Helium 10 - anybody used this and have thoughts about its effectiveness?

I have hit a bit of a wall with my listings, I feel that I have good/relevant keywords etc. The issue is when I started on Amazon the category I am selling in had little competition, however over the past few years I have seen a dramtic increase in sellers.

I have tried promoted listings, this was not succesful and I was paying out for clicks and the sales converstion was very low, so it was not economical.

I have been searching for ways to improve my listings and have found that Helium 10 is coming up a lot. It appears to have everything I need, however before spending the money on a subscription I thought I would reach out to the selling community here to see if anybody has used or is using it and if it is as good as they promise.

I had the same reservation for years, I’ve hit a wall with conversion and keywords too on my listings. Especially with overspending on ads. After speaking with a few guys on here I’ve decided today is the day I’m going to get the middle membership. Can’t wait to get started

Hey, we use this on a daily basis, I personally love the software, it gives you great detail on the platform… at the end of the day it only takes data that is already available on Amazon, but its a lot easier to understand, and has some good seller information
.
my main uses of the platform are:

  1. the listing builder, we have the diamond package, which allows you to use AI to optimise your listing after giving it listing/keywords.(platinum version still gives you keywords just no AI to write for you) this is a great tool that gives you hundreds of keywords and lets you really dig into the listings and compare it with other competitors, it then auto-syncs with your listing and changes it for you on amazon.

  2. When changing features of the product your selling they have an Insight view, which visually clearly shows the changes to the listing and tells you exactly when you lose or gain a buy box.

image

below is a table that shows you the per day sales traffic and sales conversion of your item very visibly, to see if any keywords, pictures, a+ content…etc you have added actually made a difference.

image

  1. the data you receive for competitor research on similar/same listings.

a. great sales data of a listing as a whole

image

b. information on who is selling the item, whether they are FBA/FBM and crucially, how much stock they are holding in their warehouse. this gives me a good footing on who I am mainly competing against and their sales price.

image

  1. Profits, the reason we got this in the first place, to see the net margin of our individual products that included returns and then a good visual representation of our profits as a whole.

  2. something that i never thought i needed… but alerts, it tells you whenever anything happens on the products you have alerts enabled on… it also takes a picture of your listing every 2 days and logs it in their system… this helped me immensely when one of my products got hijacked… i was able to prove that the brand was originally my name and i was the sole seller of the product.

Just so you are aware, their Inventory management tool does not work in the UK, only in USA/Canada

If you want to know anything about any other tools they have please ask as i use most of them.

Just FYI I’m not a rep or anything but I really do believe in this software as it has really helped me grow.

Kind Regards,
Elliot

We’re on the platinum plan and think that it offers good value for money. We use it primarily for optimising new listings and we find that the refund genie more than covers the cost of the subscription.

We have no plans to sack it and would recommend. Just bear in mind though that at times, it’s an American cheese fest. Keep on crushing it!

I have the platinum its defiantly enough, i use it to verify categories if there is enough demand, comparing the figures for sales it gives to my actual sales they can occasionally be way off but usually they are within 20 percent. The alerts are dad handy and cerebro is really useful. If i wasn’t constantly looking for new products i wouldn’t bother but tis worth it

One thing I would add is that if you were paying for PPC, getting clicks but no converstions it may not be the lack of keyword optimisation which is giving you low sales but perhaps your images, listing copy (not 'selling ’ your product well enough) or your price compared to competitors.

Lack of optimised keywords will prevent your listing from ranking well organically because the Amazon algorithm will struggle to understand and rank your product but it won’t stop people from buying your product who have actually clicked on the listing.

Before shelling out on a hugely expensive H10 subscription I would be more inclined to go through the images, listing content and title (do al of these really sell and accurately describe your product) and then run a little PPC again on the most absolutely relevant and targeted keywords for your product. If you are still getting low sales when people are clicking relevant keywords then you have an issue. Maybe your price and in which case no amount of keyword optimisation by H10 is going to help.

You are aware that there is a free version of the software, that has limited use, but is certainly good enough to get an idea of it.
Worth trying to see if it fits you before shelling out all of the extra for it.

I use the free version only and what it does, it does fairly well.
But would I pay for it, not on your life. The extra features are simply not worth the money.

H10 is a good comprehensive suite of tools. Like any other software or tool, it is an enabler. By definition, it means it would help you do better and probably more effectively and efficiently what you would’ve other wise would have done anyway. That’s what all softwares do. I’ve been their customer for over 5 years now I think. Like any other tool, it would be as effective as the person’s knowledge on using and leveraging the data from the tool. It helped me scale my US private label business to 7 figures as a solo-prenuer.

I am now canceling my annual subscription with H10 and I asked for a refund. As a matter of fact, I had serious problems with my email automation for almost one month! Unfortunately, I only came across this problem after having received unusual negative comments, reviews and refund requests from my customers. I have asked for a refund on the basis that they should have informed me of disruptions in their services as soon as possible and they did not! Customers are not supposed to check their software features on a daily basis and make sure everything is working smoothly. The other side of the coin.

I am now canceling my annual subscription with H10 and I asked for a refund. As a matter of fact, I had serious problems with my email automation for almost one month! They told me: “You are experiencing a known issue. Our developers have confirmed that the root cause is that sometimes Amazon’s API is not sending us the data that Follow-Up needs…This issue is not on your seller account alone, there is a small number of Amazon sellers in the same boat”.
