How to not get suspended on Amazon? (new FBA seller)
Hi,
I am a long time seller on eBay and know exactly what to do to ensure my account will not be suspended on eBay. Mostly its to do with refunding the buyer before he has the chance to “Escalate Case for eBay review”. This sometimes comes at a cost where I lose money. e.g. buyer sends back an empty box. I do not argue and just refund him anyway, because I know eBay will side with him and do a force refund and award me “Case resolved without seller action”.But I dont care since I know that my business is safe and it makes me much more money then occasional fraudster takes from me.
How does this process work for Amazon? (to be more specific, my goal is to only sell via FBA). How do I protect my account from return fraud etc? I heard the worst things on Amazon are:
- Authenticity A-Z Claims
- Used sold as New Claims
- Maybe there are more?
So I understand that buyer may say an item is fake even when it is not. Or buyer may say item is used even when it is not.
Does the mere fact that such case gets opened affect account status regardless of how this claim is resolved? Or does it only affect it if the case is not handled by the seller and seller then goes on to dispute it.
In other words, if I get such Claim and buyer returns item and gets refunded, does the case disappear?
In other words, if I get such fraudster buy from me and then open a claim, by refunding him, does it make the claim go away and keeps my account safe?
For the record I have the invoices from reputable whole-sellers for all items that I sell and intend to sell and all the items are genuine and are brand new.

Sorry but I cannot give you any good news.
Compared to Amazon, eBay is a seller’s paradise
i.e Amazon is a scammer’s heaven.
Here you will have less fruitful conversations with Support and more idiotic refunds than you ever thought possible.
Re FBA, I suggest you gaggle the pros n cons of allowing Amazon to control and make all your business decisions for you.
So - to answer your Title question - Don’t sell here.

To avoid suspension you must adhere and read Amazon policies that relate to your products ensuring compliance. In summary as long as the products you sell exactly match the listings you are proposing to sell on and you abide by the rules suspension should not be a consideration, it’s something every Seller fears but simply following Amazon policies and ensuring best practices will negate any risk. In addition you must ideally source products directly from a manufacturer or authorised distributor, if a claim arises Amazon will request Invoices to prove authenticity or an automated bot will require invoices to prove the products you are selling are genuine even without an authencitity claim.
Invoices from Ali Express or Ali Baba will not suffice.
In terms of Authenticity any customer can make an authenticity claim but a simple claim would typically show under account health and can be easily defended with a genuine invoice this is then removed from your account.

If you sell only with FBA you much less likely to et AZ claim as most are about delivery and things like that but with FBA amazon do all that for you
plus we sell most with FBA and anything which custemers wants to return goes back to you FBA and if they do not AMAZON refund you after 45 days.
Yes a few times we get emails from AMAZON do take down some listing for NO good reason so we listien and take down within 24 hours but it well worth it over alll
So over all go for it and jump are very likely to sell 4 or 5 times what you sell on ebay so you should give it try and good luck

Refunding an A-Z once it’s opened will automatically close it in the buyer’s favour so it is always worth fighting.
Should you get suspended, come here to take advice BEFORE you respond as you do not have a finite number of chances to get it right.
Bear in mind that all messages to Seller Support with be read either by a bot or by someone for whom English isn’t their first language so keep all messages short and to the point. Bullet points seem to work well.
Do not co-mingle your stock as you leave yourself open to either returned faulty items or possible counterfeit items sent in by another seller being sent out to your customer.
The good thing about selling FBA is that they will strike through or remove any feedback that relates to fulfillment so your metrics are essentially protected against non receipt and damage.
Amazon will also remove feedback left for you personally if it is a product review.

I’ve been suspended 3 times none due to something I had control over, won each time its not difficult to appeal cases, I personally don’t know why so many people struggle.
As for an A-Z claim, I’ve never had one so have no idea about them apart from what I read on these forums.
Amazon refund when a customer posts the item back if its for certain reasons, ie not fit for purpose, wrong item sent, or not authentic. The problem with that is you then have to battle Amazon if its not a legitimate claim. I’ve had to return a few items myself to Amazon recently, one was the wrong item sent, one the item was defective and another item was purely because it didn’t suit its purpose. As soon as I posted it, an hour or so later I got an email saying we are processing your refund, so I know they are processing before they get the items back, that is why people struggle with Amazon, because obviously the refund has been processed.
ebay is easier with your metrics, bad feedback on Amazon may lead you to suspension because very few people leave feedback, so your percentage can go over the 1% easily, on ebay you don’t have that problem, many more people leave feedback, so you can handle the negatives.

just 1 of masses of examples of FBA conditions you will not find unless you read the 'tiny'
print.

Don’t do anything to annoy customers, try not to directly annoy other sellers, don’t break the law, don’t break Amazon’s T&Cs.

This company is a joke. I alerted Amazon to the fact that they were overcharging VAT on me. I’ve provided all documentation. After 6 months, they randomly restrict my account for no reason.
Ironically, it coincides with Amazon basic releasing the same product.

“Unfortunately, your plan of action is incomplete.”
please reply what is incomplete instead of constantly sending the same automated email.
have no idea what you are looking for, and as usual, amazon is not helping
or even better, pick up the phone!!!
my last response to amazon??
newish supplier, 226 sales with 222 with no problems.
just find some of the customers impossible to please.
but if i have done nothing wrong, then you should stand up for it
i think the problem is nobody leaves reviews.
had 9 reviews, 7 good and 2 bad. amazon cancelled the 2 bad because they were false. so out of 226 sales i have 7 good reviews.
but still amazon wants to close me down???
