Newbie question- FBM shipping costs
I just sold my first book! Only 3 more rooms of books to sell before I can move. I sent 2nd class, not a big book by any means and it was £3.10. Can’t imagine what it will be for the big ones. Why can I only charge £2.80 for shipping? Thanks

You can only set your own postage rates, with a professional seller account.
So more than likely you are on the individual one, which has set rates.

Sarah, to be able to set your own shipping rates you have to be on the Professional Selling Plan, which is £30 a month, otherwise you pay an additonal fee per sale. You only draw even if you sell a minimum of 33/34 items a month.
If you don’t pay the monthly fee you have to go with Amazon’s default shipping charge.
You can profit a bit on items are that are slim and light and can go as the LL size.
If you purchase your postage via Amazon’s ‘Buy Shipping’ it costs 2.95, rather than £3.10 at the PO so I would recommend that.
For anything over 2kg in weight then you are as well using a courier as they are cheaper than RM for heavier items.
