Difficult as a first time seller
I’ve been trying to sell on here for around 2 months now and basically noone has even clicked on any of my product listings, I haven’t got a buy box which is beyond ridiculous as my products would have been mostly marketed by their prices. I know there’s alot of competition but not even having a buy box is literally the worst and really really shady of Amazon considering we pay £30 monthly in professional account fees. So disappointed in Amazon for making things extra difficult for new sellers, it’s actually shocking, they should change the rules. I’m leaving amazon because of this and selling on other platforms instead. Hope Amazon get some sense and try and actually help new sellers instead of making it an almost impossible feat.

I suppose if your mind is set then that’s that, but have you considered that all sellers were new sellers at some point? I can’t speak to your lack of views without seeing an ASIN, but did you take advantage of using keywords to help search visibility? Made sure your listings weren’t suppressed from search results? Considered using FBA to get access to the buybox earlier? Running sponsored brand ads if applicable? Promoting off-Amazon?

Unless they’ve changed it I don’t think a new seller is eligible for the Buy Box until selling for 90 days.

I am a relatively new seller, 6 months old. I have complained against many things on Amazon and still do, mainly some double standards and how badly done some listings are and I can’t change them. Amazon and their strange rules can really annoy me. One thing I can’t complain is the amount of traffic and how easy it is to sell. Although with the competition around here it’s not so straightforward to make a profit. Amazon is a full time job though and therefore I had to give myself some goals to decide whether it’s worth it. Doing well on Amazon means neglecting other areas. So I have been looking for products that sell relatively well, have good reviews, no one selling on FBA and the lowest offer is something I can match whilst still making a profit. Then I picked some promising products and moved them to FBA. I have also enrolled my own brand. It seems to be working, although my buy box varies from 18% to 86% but I don’t really care much about algorithms I can’t understand, I prefer to focus on things I can change.

As far as I can remember, new sellers selling as fbm cannot get the BB until they have a good sales history. Its not a new thing

Imagine that you have a product, and one day someone walks through the door and says, I want to put your product on my marketplace, which is the most well-known marketplace in the world; logistics are all done for you, send that product to me, and I will pick it, ill pack it, and ill send it next day recorded for cheaper than anyone else. We are in every major country, and your product will be live within 15 minutes.
I don’t know about you, but I would bend over backwards to make that deal work if they walked into my house.
I understand amazon, at the best of times, is annoying and that amazons customer service is somewhat robotic. But the opportunity is massive if you can find the gaps. I would keep trying at this; I promise you if you find those gaps, you will be sitting here in a year thinking, damn, I’m glad I didn’t give up on this.

I dont wish to sound harsh but there are many experienced sellers here that would like Amazon to help THEM.
If you just glance through the list of threads on this forum you will see many many new sellers who clearly have done no research at all. One of the effects of this (I am not saying you are guilty) is that the amazon catalogue is clogged up with completely flawed listings. In turn this leads to a mass of further posts here complaining they’ve been suspended or something similar.
Quite honestly Amazon is a difficult and very unfair place to sell and it could do without the fly-by-night characters (again I am not saying you are one) wo want to get rich very very quickly (very often by buying boat loads of goods from China- but that’s another story)
Just as a matter of interest I have been on Amazon for 18 years and I have never once had the buy box

Your on the professional selling plan and not sold anything for 2 months. You need to seriously consider this the professional selling plan is NOT needed to be a business seller on her you just need to be regged as a business. Proffesional seller plan has a tipping point of about 30-35 sales a months if your not hitting that you should not be using it.
What are you trying to sell your own products or bought to sell items. If they are your own and you have made your own aisn then your gonna need to think about advertising them for them to get seen. If your selling wholesale goods then have you picked the right ones checked your compititors out on the asin.

Rather than rewarding long term sellers who follow the rules and ensure they follow the customer wishes. If you think being a first time seller is difficult in getting the buy box, you don’t know what stress is when your account comes up for review and have to go through further onerous tasks of verification. Don’t get me started on the 3 asin check etc.
You’re not even at the start of your Amazon journey, 2 months is nothing. Come back in 10 years and tell everyone how is easy it is to be an Amazon seller, stress free and making millions. Thanks a lot You tube.

The fee is not for a Professional account, but for the selling PLAN you chose.
You do not need to be on the Pro. Plan with a Business seller account, and as said above, if you are not selling 33/34 items a month then you are losing out financially.
You would be better off on the Individual PLAN where you pay a small fee per sale.
So you do not pay anymore monthly fees you can downgrade the selling plan by going to
Settings - Account Info - Your services - Manage - and downgrade to individual plan. It will say pending until your next monthly fee would be due, but you will not pay again.
You can upgrade once your sales reach a decent level.
