VAT registration requirements for Amazon UAE Freezone

Hi,

Is anyone here selling in UAE using the Amazon freezone programme? I have recently started selling on amazon.ae using the freezone programme and was advised by the Amazon associate who helped me with the initial setup that I did not need to register for VAT.

She has since moved roles and I thought I would just double-check this as I am a bit concerned I may have been advised incorrectly.

Does anyone have any experience in this area?
