Marketplace facilitator order - Big loss

Hi all,

I have read through some of the existing threads on here regarding Marketplace facilitator orders and still do not feel I've got my head fully around this.

I have a VAT registered business and sold a second hand phone for £700 that was bought on the Marginal VAT scheme and the order info states that it is a Marketplace facilitator order (Jersey) and my net proceeds are now £583.32. So not only have i made a loss on the item itself, i am also down £43.73 in fee's and a further £29.17 in facilitator tax. This has totalled a loss of £70 where i would normally make £30 profit.

This is highly disappointing and frankly it is not feasible to continue doing business this way. There are talks on other threads of removing Jersey from my shipping templates but it appears if i attempt that i then lose the one & two day premium shipping options, which only leaves me standard shipping. There has to be another way?

Is there a way that i can prevent this happening again? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Regards

Basically, I think amazon haven't full worked out what is applicable for VAT in the new scheme in Jersey.

We have had no issue with removing Channel Islands from our Shipping Templates though if we wished. In fact, have just tested - I've removed Channel Islands and still have Two Day Shipping as an option.
