So much potential fraud on Amazon or is the the norm?

We’ve been selling successfully on Amazon for around 6 months now and initially it went really well, we’ve been selling on average around 3-7 products a day at an average value of around £150, However for the last 2 months we’ve been getting messages from customers (1 every 2 days ) saying their item hasn’t been delivered…We send everything on a tracked service via DHL and each time we check the item has been delivered to the address and in most cases signed for by the person who made the original order (with the exception of the odd hick up). I cant understand how we get so many, I normally send the screen shot of the delivery conformation and the satellite photo of the confirmed delivery address and most never reply back but its such a time sap on our business . I’ve never had this issue on eBay and we’ve been a power seller for years. Is this just how Amazon is? Is this the environment they’ve created or am I just having some bad luck or a swarm of scammers?

I’m at the point of wondering whether its worth the time and effort, its a secondary or even third for us, 80% of our sales are via our website. Should I persevere?

Many thanks

Amazon newb…ish

Sadly yes. It seems that there are many customers out there who know how to try and get a freebie.

Yes - very much so. There is no chance of any buyer being punished for an attempted fraud and they know it.

If your orders are valued at £150, then you need to send them all with a signature confirmation on delivery.

And in case of any issues related to non-receipt, you will be able to have a potential A-Z claim closed in your favor with a representation like this:

“Hello, the order was shipped on (date) with tracking number (xxxxxx) by carrier (carrier name). The shipment can be tracked on this link: (link to online tracking showing delivery and signature). According to the order’s tracking information, the package was delivered to the correct address on (date) and signed by (name). Please close this claim since the order was already delivered. Thank you.”

Also, I would also advise you to check out my thread with detailed instructions how to handle all types of A-Z claims:

Hi

Like you many sellers on here are targeted by scammers or a competitor who tells their friends to target.

If you suspect fraud I would recommend logging the information with the Police this way their home address will be known if they decide to do it to another seller. Like you we are constantly targeted in Germany 30% of orders are trouble makers. In France they leave fake product reviews to trash your brand. It is not rocket science who is behind the stupid games they play online.

Amazon knows what’s going on but does nothing about it.
