Filing for German VAT, but not UK VAT registered

Hello! Tried finding an answer for this. Would I have to file my company for UK VAT prior to applying for German VAT? I am using Amazons VAT services, and it will not allow me to continue, unless I upload proof of UK VAT registration.

Hi Edessa_Trading I am not VAT registered in UK,and now with Brexit don’t know how is the situation as I don’t meet the threshold for VAT in the EU countries,do I still need to apply for VAT in this countries? Its confusing.
