Read onlyI do not meet the conditions for starting a business. I don't need to submit any documents.
Please understand. I had previously received a message from you informing me that I owed VAT and needed to pay it. This debt was £1400. Please withdraw this debt from my American Amazon account. This problem has been going on for 2 months and I have not been able to receive money from Amazon for 2 months. Please understand the urgency. Charge my debt from Amazon America reserve money and then activate all my payments. I cannot buy new products because of this problem. It needs to be resolved urgently. All my money is there and it needs to come to me so I can buy a new item. Then take my debt and activate my payments.
are you referring to vat owed on sales in the uk?
Did you sell items as new or store stock in the UK?
First of all, this is NOT Amazon you are messaging, just a forum of other sellers - you need to deal with Seller Support.
"I do not meet the conditions for starting a business." - If you are buying goods to sell on for profit, which you are - quote: "so I can buy a new item" - then you ARE a business and should be registered as such. You do not need to be a ltd. company, you can be sole-trader.
"I don't need to submit any documents." - not sure what you mean by this ? - all, seller accounts need to submit documents to be able to sell.
This won't happen. There is likely to be many Amazon policies and international laws that prohibit this, many to do with money laundering.
You need to pay the amount direct to Amazon UK.
From the wording in your message it sounds to me you are in fact a business.
If you are not established in the UK then Amazon has to collect and remit VAT on your behalf to HMRC and then they will charge you the amount they paid to HMRC. This has been law now for several years in the UK. There is no VAT threshold to pass either - all your sales to a UK customer sold via Amazon will attract VAT.
Admittedly, Amazon were very slow on finding out those businesses that were not UK established and that is something you may need to address with Amazon directly. But that will have to be done via Seller Support and not in these forums.
As for using Amazon America reserve money - well I am sure there are money laundering laws prohibiting this and it seems to further point to the fact you are not UK established.
If you are in fact a UK established business then you need to send Amazon proof of this. Those emails were sent out a few months ago and you need to provide the required documentation that they asked for.
Hey there @Seller_b2cZvINRbfmze,
Have you reached out to Seller Support about your VAT inquiry as well?
