Hi @Julia_Amzn,

This is in reply of the message you sent on my original forum. Though its bit confusing, please let me know if I should keep tracking the original forum post or should i continue here?

Case IDs: 9976293402 and 9923628212.

This issue has been going on since month now and multiple cases and contacts were made without any solution.

I definately dont want to create duplicate post but will appreciate answer from anywhere possible.

Just to reiterate - all my ASINs are FBA and in helpless situation at the moment.

Thank you for helping on these issues and for getting one of my issues resolved. It really is appreciated.

I am personally very annoyed by this and I did ask you to look at case 9981737232 in the previous thread. I know that you can not get all issues escalated/fixed.

This is for a brand that I previously had permission to sell but am now getting error 8040 and 5461.

The final reply from Seller Support is as follows

We have completed our review on your account and determined that the variation relationship is not approved because it does not follow Amazon's listing policy.

Hence, your account is denied for brand "XXXXX" for variation creation.

Due to confidentiality, we cannot disclose the factors behind the decision.

For more information on variation, please refer to Amazon's Variation Creation Policy on Seller Central: https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G201844590

It makes me extremely upset that it is implied I have done something wrong and no reason was given.

I gave an example of 4 ASINs that have become detached from their parent. A parent I set up and was live for around a year.

The ASINS are all of the same design clothing in sizes ranging from 18-24 Months to 4-5 Years. In this instance I am following the variation creation policy which states

Variations are sets of products that are related to one another. Good variation relationship listings allow buyers to compare and choose products based on different attributes such as size, colour or other characteristics from the available options on a single product detail page. For more information, go to Variation relationship overview.

The products I have are related to each other by being the same design and vary only in size so a valid variation relationship.

There are other ASIN's for the same brand which have also become detached from their parent which I can not now fix.

It makes me think whether this is the correct platform for licensed items which require brand approval from Amazon when that brand approval is now so hard to get.

I have been selling these type of items for around 8 years on Amazon and this maybe the last year I sell them due to the uncertainty of whether I can resolve 5461 and 8040 errors.

I will leave it there now. I doubt whether this decision will be overturned. It is not however nice to be accused of doing something wrong. All I want to do is sell stock I have brought.

Thank you for engaging in this thread @Seller_vtSzvxtW9StxE and @Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn.I am totally aware of the cases we are working on together, and it's totally fine to address them in this post.

I am trying to collect all examples of cases that did not resolve the issue and find the common factor in order to work on the improvement with our partner team, who is waiting for this data.

Thank you for your cooperation and have a great weekend ahead!

Amazon Case ID: 10004583852

We have had a mismatch of SKU to wrong ASIN's and has caused huge volume of orders for the incorrect item and incorrect prices.

We are not sure whats causing the issue, some of the SKU we see on the orders dont even exsist in our updated files.

We have been checking all the logs to see where the data has come from.

Now we have another issue on how to cancel the mass volume of incorrect orders as this will affect our Account Health also.

Is there any help and suggestion on this?

Hi @Julia_Amzn,

Yesterday I tried to list a UK magazine, using the code B004IZ954U.

This code I obtained from Amazon UK a few weeks ago by looking up the magazine title and editor.

The message I received for this line in m,y upload was

5461 Error You may not create new ASINs for the brand Lothian Children's Books. If you believe the product you want to sell is not currently in the Amazon catalog and should be added as a new ASIN, please copy and paste the following URL in a separate window and complete the form: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/hz/approvalrequest?restrictionScope=CONTRIBUTION&brandName=Lothian Children's Books&brandId=7802948&operationFilter=create_asin

The magazine in question has nothing whatever to do with Lothian Children's Books

When I investigated further B004IZ954U was not recognised on Amazon UK any more, but a web-search turned it up on Amazon DE.

As this is a magazine in English, unsurprisingly, there was no stock

I have tried in the past to list books on the UK site that do not already have a page dedicated to that ISBN (when that is available) and have given up trying

I hope this helps your analysis of the problem

All Best wishes

Brian

Hello Julia,

The issue for me is the brand approval process.

I have had access granted for the same brand over 10 times this year alone. You can see this on the case ID's below as examples. The process is broken if I have to ask for approval every week.

9928403002

9908080502

9884212312

9861068022

9828010412

9798055822

9960529192

There needs to be a better process for sellers. There needs to be an approval process which sellers know how long we have access to the brand so we can plan for re-approval. At the moment Amazon randomly remove access without us knowing and it causes huge issues.

Each time Amazon removes my access to the brand, it breaks all my parent/child variations due to "'[color]' is required but not supplied". When I try to fix without brand approval I obviously get errors 5461 and 8040.

Usually this takes 2-3 days to get brand approval again, and hours to fix the parent/child variations. This causes stress for sellers and we lose out on days of sales and sales ranks drop so for days after it takes time for the ASIN's to re-establish themselves.

In an ideal world the selling application page would show "Approved until 30th September 2025" for example. Then sellers can at least plan to get re-approval on or before that date etc.

Hi,

Case ID 9759363652

First opened my case about the issue on the 01/05/2024 and tried until the 25/06/2024 to resolve it, but got nowhere.

Same issues as everyone else. Had the brand approved around 10 times (in this case ID, and several other times this year) but the parent / children are all split and I cannot merge due to these errors.

I cannot edit images, add variations etc as it breaks all licensed products groups.

Also this issue is not just this brand, but also several other licensed brands we have.

Hi @Julia_Amzn

Thanks for your continuing help on this and from seller support. I thought I was there and had everything fixed.

However it now turns out that all my Peppa Pig Variation Listings are broken and I need to reapply again for permission to list the parents again. I only got permission a couple of months ago.

Is it under investigation why the variation listings keep breaking? Whilst it has always happened it has never happened with such regularity.

It is becoming a bit of a problem to keep on top of this. so any chance someone could look at why the variation listings keep breaking would help

Hello @Julia_Amzn

I have had another set of variation listings break because my permission to list DUNLOP has been revoked AGAIN.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I have been approved to sell this brand maybe 20 times over the last 2 years and its getting very tiresome logging into Amazon to broken listings.

The new case ID is 10094198352 which I'm trying to get approval for if you can feed this back to the partner team and maybe push this through so I can fix my listings.

Thanks

Hi @Julia_Amzn

Its unbelievale what is happening. We've been selling with Amazon for 7 years and this year it has becoming impossible to work with this mess. We have only just found this thread but have already closed all our European accounts and shut down thousands of listings due to all this brand approval and split listing nonsense. Not once has anyone in seller support mentioned this thread or that Amazon is seeking to try and resolve this, quite the opposite. Its insulting that after making hundreds of thousands of £ for Amazon in fees we are being treated like we are criminals and constantly accused of brand fraud when we are a well established and professional business.

@Julia_Amzn if you can do anything to resolve this urgent Case ID 10093834792 please help. We have worked hard and paid substantial amounts of advertising money to get this listing to within the top 10 of its category and now its collapsing due to the errors created by the Amazon system. If this is the future we will never pay for advertising on Amazon again.

Julia.
