Why is my debit card listed as invalid and Why I can't select the Amazon.co.uk as my marketplace?

Not sure if I’m doing the right way to verify my debit card.
Why my Visa debit card is invalid even though it works fine?
I tried to enter my 3 Visa Debit cards, but it’s still invalid.
Also, I tried to hit the Verify button. It goes to the Verify Charge method section that I need to select the marketplace for which I would like to verify. But, Amazon.co.uk was not on the list.
It only gave me the following list:
-Amazon.fr
-amazon.nl
-amazon.pl
-amazon.es
-amazon.de
-amazon.it and amazon.se.
How can I select Amazon.co.uk as my marketplace, please?

The first link is a forum question which the replies suggests debit cards aren’t accepted and Amazon wishes for a credit card, if you scroll down to 17, they say that SS told them directly. The second is the Amazon link for banking which only mentions credit card and not debit.
I can’t suggest anything for the latter but perhaps it’ll show once they accept your card?
