Royal Mail Delays - Locations
I’ve seen all the other posts regarding post after Easter and delays in general etc. I’m beginning to think I’m in an area which is pretty badly affected at the starting point, ie as soon as its collected from me and thats causing most of the delay. Just wondering if we could try to gather a bit of a picture from locations that we are in. I know we’ve got some posties on the forum as well who could maybe chip in with any inside info they have. I sent something with my business postal collection to my parents 10 miles away second class last Thursday and it didn’t arrive until yesterday.
Before anyone says I fully understand each bit of mail goes through various routes and just because one thing arrives on time doesnt mean everything should (as I keep trying to educate my buyers!) but just thinking maybe we could spot some patterns or gather some information?

Still receiving daily post fine.

Shropshire goes to Chester (well they do in Shrewsbury anyway, not sure about places like Telford).
We are getting incoming post about once or twice a week.

All my mail went on Tuesday after the bank holiday weekend and I’ve had at least 20 people not receive their items yet, I use PPI 48 hour from Seaford in East Sussex. Strangely items sent after that are all arriving, albeit a little late. And even stranger an item I sent on the Wednesday after the bank holiday 48hour arrived the very next day. Go figure. It would seem the level of postage you use doesn’t matter at the moment, they just get through what they can in no particular order.

All items of post in this area goes to a massive facility in Leeds. Leeds Hub was a disaster zone after Easter. The guy that collects sack from us showed a small video of a sea of sacks and parcel cages all rammed together. This was why all our post was landing 7 to 10 days late

Every Royal Mail depot has got problems, Royal Mail Medway distribution centre has a backlog of 3000 yolks full of work waiting to be processed. When you ask Royal Mail customer service they deny any of this, and a recent Facebook photo has been taken down too.

Everywhere has issues, Jubilee at Feltham is using Woking as an overflow. Easter post is still sitting there.
There are no regional issues, the issues are country wide.

All arrived in good time.
Most of these items have been dispatched by buying the post online and my local RM postie picking them up during their round. They don’t have to oblige me but they are great folk, doing their best to help things along. I could go to my post office in town, potentially cause more people harm, the postie is taking the risks to help me and others.

14th April was a disaster for me too. I’m in SW18.
Usually we get one or two queries about item not received but for that particular day’s despatch there were more than 10.
Most customers are very understanding. On RM48 PPI one arrived yesterday so that makes it 10 working days!

All my mail goes to South Midlands and hardly any from 14th April have arrived. I’m bombarded with messages constantly and just seen a neg cos of it, their item went on 14th, I had email them yesterday too.
So disheartening
Amazon should be able to have another couple of drop downs on the shipping settings, 5-7 and 7-10. No good changing handling times as when they receive the despatch email they still expect it to arrive no matter what the handling says.

Post that we sent Standard 48 from 10th-14th has still not arrived to customers, some have but the increase in customers emails is way up for us. Most have been patient and understand, some understandably have not.
Even some post prior to this date line has still not arrived, I think its a case of the yorks being pulled in prior to the easter weekend, sitting still with no processing and then all the new yorks come the 14th onwards being processed first…
