What is Amazon policy on incorrect customer address
If a customer supplies an incorrect delivery address, who’s liable when it inevitably doesn’t arrive? I assume the seller is, because they always are, but I just wondered if there was something in the policies? I can’t find anything.
On a related note, why the heck can’t Amazon verify customer addresses?? Even my local Chinese takeaway validate the delivery address! But this seems too much of a stretch for the world’s biggest online retailer.

I think this kind of problem generally comes up, when customers redirect goods to a different address.
Obviously if they are doing this, then the address isn’t verifiable as such.
Officially, if you send via a tracked method and the customer has provided an incorrect address, then you should have some protection for this. As you can prove delivery.
Obviously without tracked, you have very little protection at all.
As to the policy itself, no idea.
Go look!

Sellers must send to the address supplied by Amazon. - and yes there is something in the policies, or there was !
Amazon will not cover you if you send to an address other than what Amazon have given you - and it IS the customer’s responsibility.
If they request that you redirect and send to a different address, then it is best to tell them to cancel the order, ensure the correct address is in the ‘Post to’ section on their order page, and then re-order.
If the given address is near, or similar to the one sent to then suggest they go and retrieve it !! - it IS their responsibility for giving an incorrect address.
(I’m pretty sure I am right in this - but will stand corrected if policy has changed)

Yeah, I always ask customers to cancel and reorder, if they ask to change the address.
Occasionally a customer will forget the house number and I have to chase them up. But some of the addresses I get are crazy. I had one that was just the customer’s name and “London, London” with a jumble of letter that didn’t look like a valid postcode.

I asked seller support about this one.
They told me it was my responsibility to check each address was correct by using the internet.
If the address was incorrect I should message them and ask them to request a cancellation before reordering.
I asked if I was allowed to contact the customer as I understood that was now disallowed.
They said, yes you are not allowed to contact the customer!
