Read onlyPlease help us! We have been selling on Amazon for years and recently the dreaded VAT verification issue came up on our UK account. WE submitted all required documents but some kept getting rejected. WE then recevied an email saying we could keep selling but would have to pay backdated VAT. We gave up and did this (and claimed back what we had already paid from HMRC), and authorized Amazon to deduct VAT from sales... but then our seller account was closed, for apparently failing verification. We tried and tried to figure out why and were told many different things over the phone all of which we corrected.. but now our account is still closed and all we get back is a generic message saying
We have decided you may not open a seller account on Amazon in Europe...
There is an email where it says we can reply and appeal the decision. We have tried to do this but get the same generic response back. WE don't know what to do, where to turn.
Is there someone out there who has got around this situation? We are losing thousands of dollars a day.
