Amazon Padding Delivery Windows - Urgent

Dear All,

Hope you are well and staying safe.

Our shipping templates for UK clearly show 2-3 days delivery for every region. This is the lowest level of delivery time we can physically show. Our handling time is also showing as 2 day and I have even tested 1 days.

However, on the listing it does NOT reflect, it shows like a 10+ working day delivery time frame.

Issue is, our competitors are getting accurate delivery times coming through of 2-3 days on their listings and as a result of that, we are really losing out sales drastically. Our sales have dropped by 60% since this issue arose. We have 14 members of staff and we have already had to lay off all temporary staff as a result of this. We are so distressed and honestly I have had so many sleepless nights.

Raised it with seller support, but unfortunately they were no help. They stated it is because of the pandemic, Amazon is increased delivery windows, but why is this not happening for our competitor, when we are using the very same shipping methods, we are based in similar parts of the country too.

This is now the second time the same issue has happened. First time round it resolved itself in like two weeks.

Our international shipping seems to work correctly.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

this has now been mentioned a few times on here
several possible reasons

  1. Amazon use your local Royal Mail depot to gauge for any delivery delays and add on time accordingly (even if you don’t use RM)

  2. Do you have any defects on your account ?

  3. What is your VTR ?

This has been an ongoing issue for probably a year now. Amazon will sometimes adjust delivery dates to avoid buyer disappointment where they believe they have data which shows there is a risk the dates the seller has set are not achievable.

That could be related to the individual seller, but can also be because they have data on the relevant courier / buyer area.

I’ve no answers but something similar happened a while ago to our account and I can only presume it was maybe feedback mentioning delivery delays etc, it was impossible to track the root cause.

Look after yourself, it’s not easy at the moment.

I’ve been experiencing exactly the opposite problem! Amazon changed my delivery times for my 3 - 5 days delivery (free 2nd class Royal Mail) to 1 - 2 days without telling me. Got that resolved and now they’ve changed my 2 days premium shipping to ignore my production of product time and to include weekends - despite the fact that my shipping template clearly states Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs and Fri.
I have a query raised with Amazon but it seems they have been changing things with regards to shipping timescales for me since the introduction of faster regional transit times.
I asked the question about the 1 - 2 days issue I had 5 times before someone at seller support actually worked out what had happened (I got told several times that my issue was the the parcel had been delivered sooner than I expected!!!,and I needed to contact Royal Mail) so I would suggest just keep going back to seller support until you get someone who understands what’s happening, ready for the next time it happens too…?
If you are in an area where there is a high case rate of the Delta variant and this might be what Amazon have worked on to change the delivery times but it doesn’t make sense if your competitor uses the same depot.

So many staff (14) you must be processing 1000’s of parcels every day, why do you not have products prepacked ready to be picked and labelled ready for your Royal Mail collection.

I have 3 staff, 1 picker and 2 packers, they are also multi skilled just in case, we get 250-500 parcels out these days.

Royal Mail are delivering our standard RM48 within 2-3 days, just odd few to BT post codes take longer.

Thanks everyone for your messages.

The issue is NOT about us not sending the products fast enough. Hence pre packing shipments will not resolve this issue.

The issue is despite our shipping template showing 2-3 day delivery times, Amazon is displaying 5-7 days on the actual website.

Opened tonnes and tonnes of cases, to be honest we are getting no proper information from Amazon.

Any help related to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Jist to confirm this issue is not happening to our competitor who dispatches from similar location from us and we know them personally and their metrics are far worser etc.

Thanks once again

Hi All,

Hope everyone is well.

Has anyone had a breakthrough with this?

Our delivery windows being displayed keep getting longer and longer, it is so frustrating!

Hi All,

We are still in the same position. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

So our delivery window issue got sorted out for 11 days, and now the same issue has started again.

In the last 11 days, all our account metrics have just improved massively.

Our On Time Delivery Rate went from 98% to 99%.

This is honestly so bizarre and so frustrating.

Any suggestions?

I am thinking of reducing the shipping template to like 1-2 day where I can, technically we will not get it to the customer in 1-2 days, but will be 2-3 days. However, as Amazon is padding the delivery windows, it may show 2-4 on the actually website.

Thoughts?

Thanks.
