Suspicious e-mail from: compliance-verification@amazon.com

Did anyone else receive this email: Looks suspicious. Any thoughts?

On 07/12 we scheduled disbursement which failed. Scheduled funds automatically went back to “total balance”. We have tried to make another disbursement and all 3 of them did not arrive in our bank account. The disbursement status is “done”, but with no “trace id” which means something went wrong and the payment never left the amazon account.

In the meantime, we started receiving suspected emails from compliance-verification@amazon.com saying that:

“Your refund payments cannot be processed. To release your payment, verify the identity.”

Amazon seller support told us that the email mentioned above is a scam. We don’t have any notification regarding verification in our seller central. We didn’t provide our documents and don’t know if we should. Also, our funds are on hold. We receive reminders of their emails.

Wise. Do you think this may be the reason?

A quick Google and forum search seems to say some think it’s fake and some say its real so I’d definitely wait for a mod

Good morning everyone,

Thank you all for your comments!

The best way to check if this type of notification is legit, is to go to your Seller Central -> go to Settings in the upper right corner -> Account info -> if you can see the notification regarding your account, it means that additional checks are in process and the communication you have received is legit.

@ Sinan123, I will message you privately with more details.

Thank you again everyone for your valuable support!

Kind regards,
Julia.

I’ve also had this email for the past 22 days, all my market places for the last 22 days. Except for my home country. Can any one help is this the correct mail or fake mail?? Should I send him the papers he is asking for? It’s all now Amazon customer care doesn’t know about it. They just raised their hands and can’t do anything. I think this is one of the scammer employees of AMAZON doing this. So I am now planning to make a Police F.I.R against the staff and management of AMAZON India office, what do you think I should go for a police complaint?

How can I resolve this case?

I received the same email over two months ago, and since then, I have not been able to receive payment to my account. When I asked Amazon customer service about the email, they informed me that they do not send such emails and advised me to ignore it.

Although the seller’s Amazon panel does not show any problems that I can solve, Amazon states that everything is fine with my account, but I have not received payment for 10 weeks

In this thread, it appears that the link is valid. Desperate, I checked this link again today on a safe browser, and after entering the proper email, the message reads, “We have not requested information from the email address you entered.”

Despite multiple attempts to communicate and contact Amazon, I have received no satisfactory response. Most of the responses I received were along the lines of “everything is fine, your scheduled pay date is blah blah,” and so on for two months! What Amazon is doing to honest people is simply appalling.
