Returns request but no comms
I have a return request which as been on my dashboard for nearly a month now. Customer has requested return reason as ‘no longer required’. It cost me nearly £10 to post this item out. I have messaged the customer and asked them to return the item they pay for postage but I have not even had an acknowledgement from them or a message to say they will return. To me its like a stalemate situation. Before I refund I want the items back as they are worth over £60 and I’m not about to refund that amount of money without my items back. Annoying thing is though I can’t discuss this with Amazon s there is no contact number for me to do so, or is there?

There is nothing for you to do. You refund when you get the product back. The customer may have changed their mind.

They’ve maybe decided that as they are responsible for the return postage cost that they will keep it.
Just leave it, and do not refund unless you get it back.

I have a return that was approved 46 days ago. Customer said product was opened (they are factory foil sealed and I unscrew all lids to check prior to dispatch) but parcel box was not damaged. I emailed the customer apologising, stating we would investigate and to confirm if any of the product had been used as this would be assessed to see if it had been tampered with in transit. I had no response and have not, to date, received the product back so I can only assume they were anticipating an instant refund without item return (as they put that in the notes…“Product came opened. Required full refund”
I have had one other instance when this happened and I think it dropped off the dashboard around day 63.
Unless you receive the item back, or additional action is notified via Amazon, do not refund.

Your £10 outbound shipping costs is apart of the retail cost of the product. If the order has not been returned within the returns period which is normally 30 days then it can be assumed the customer has decided to keep the order, however returns period has been extended till end of January I think.
So your outbound shipping costs £10 and prepaid return label is £3.35? and if and when the order is returned £13.35 loss? or £10.00 loss if you deduct the prepaid label cost.

Now I find out the customer says they have returned the package but I have not got it and Amazon has issued a refund so I’m well out of pocket now. Goods gone, postage paid and no way of contacting Amazon to discuss this. Its absolutely disgusting. I think I’ve just about had enough of these jokers!
