Royal Mail 'Saturday Service' from Monday
Royal Mail are moving to a ‘Saturday Service’ on all days from Monday.
All service points/depots are closing at 11am and all collections must be completed by 2pm.
Royal Mail staff are moving to half-days.
We have been advised we will get a collection between 12:30 and 14:00 and will not know until next week (our usual pickup is 4pm).
Does this mean the end of SFP?
Praying for a 2pm pick up but for us FBM Prime sellers this is gonna cause headaches.

I would say that unless you want a lot of headaches, probably.
You could use another carrier of course, but all will announce something similar in terms of the service guarantees unfortunately. My local PO hours are also down to 10.30am - 3.30pm, so collection from branch is also going to start to be an issue with missed parcels.

Some sellers have moved off SFP because of the issue you have described whilst other sellers are contacting the customer informing there maybe a slight delay in the order. Some have increased their handling times to compensate for late delivery.
Post offices are closing early in some areas 1pm and others 3pm.
As of 9:00 on Wednesday, 152,979 people in the UK had been tested for the virus with 29,474 confirmed positive.

Hi SmallFry, is this just your local depot or nationwide? Our account manager suggests that they know nothing of a national announcement.

No such message on the Click & Drop accounts front page at the moment, I would have though any new notifications of service change would have come through and a message left.

Not sure if this is true or just rumours. The only official news at the moment is “To protect the health and safety of our people and the general public, from Monday 6 April, we are changing the opening times of our Customer Services Points in our local delivery offices.”.

I guess we will wait for an official announcement, if any.

Looks like the service point I drop my PPI off at will be reducing hours.

On Royal mail website now about the drop offs/depots closing - no word on collections yet.
My Account Manager has apparently been on hold to central collections since 11am (its now 1pm) trying to find out for me…

Royal Mail near us are delivering parcels and letters every other day to help the strain of staff being off sick and self isolating, accepting parcels at local PO hasn’t changed as yet

I do this as a part time business and my full time job is a postman for Royal Mail, so as of the time of writing this I should fill in couple of blanks and corrections.
Collection/Service points are not a nation wide blanket time, and is being adjusted per office.
Collections are being adjusted again office by office depending on how hard hit the staffing situation is, my office at the moment the collections have not changed at all.
Royal Mail staff are NOT on half days.
Post box times are remaining the same and the rules have not been relaxed, so if you send items via smart stamp and can post them in a box, the postman still have to collect them after the stated time and the items have to make it to the mail centre the same day.
Many offices are approx half staff at the moment, so rounds are being completed on the basis of being completed every two days (again depending on the state of each office) - sending items RM tracked is a good way of still getting your packages delivered on time as these metrics count against managers bonuses if tracked items don’t get delivered!
9am special deliveries are now 12 noon (will still charge you for 9am)
1pm special deliveries are now 9pm (will still charger you for 1pm)

We had a call from our RM account manager this morning to check that everything was still satisfactory and if there is anything they can do to help. There was no mention of any changes to collections.
