Validation letter from hmrc

I am trying to validate my seller account. Amazon is requesting a letter from hmrc with the business name. My UTR for self assessment is in my personal name and we mistakenly registered the Amazon account in our trading name. What is the best course of action. Can i change the legal name on Amazon to my personal name so it matches the UTR at HMRC?

If your personal name is on your Amazon account you might be OK, have Amazon actually rejected it? Does the Primary Contact name match the HMRC document?

I could be wrong and things at Amazon might have changed but I thought when I originally registered to sell on Amazon I entered the trading name but my UTR was my name. I then provided my bank account details as the bank account had “my name trading as …” on it. Maybe you can check this and just tell the verification team the truth.

it should be fine in your personal name if you are registered on Amazon as a sole trader as I’ve just done the same and the verification went through no problem but I did have to set up a bank account in my business name and change the bank account associated with my amazon seller account which was much easier than getting a letter from HMRC

my letter from Hmrc took 6 weeks and 8 phone calls to arrive

I had the same problem, my self assessment is in my personal name, and Amazon is in my business name, I explained that in the reply and included the details they asked for, and within a day I got a reply back confirming it was all ok. I had the same problem with VAT , and again replying to the email explaining got it sorted.
