Anyone selling Haynes manuals?
Just had listings for VW Haynes manuals closed for " Potential Trademark Misuse" I thought must be an error - spoke to help chat -
Az - Well technically speaking, if you are not approved to use the brand you need to edit the listing and remove VOLKSWAGEN.
Me: So all Haynes manuals need to not mention the mark of car they are for?
Az: Yes.
Me: Do you know what Haynes manuals are?
Az: My knowledge for Haynes manual may be limited, however, I am explaining to you the Amazon policy and how to address suspected intellectual violation.
So I thought I see if I can edit them in some way that they still make sense but meet this week whim - got this " Looking for something?
We’re sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site."

I’ve just had an email about a book called " Faster, Higher, Farther: The Inside Story of the Volkswagen Scandal". Similarly they are citing misuse of a trademark and the detail page has been removed - although only for the hardback version and you can still buy the paperback or kindle edition.

Amazon need to get a grip of this, there are so many products on Amazon needlessly taken down because of misusing trademarks.
In your case you probably need to edit the title and change it to the format which uses words such as For, Compatible, Intended For such as the following
[Your Product’s Brand Name] + [Product Name] + “for”/“compatible with”/“fits”/“intended for” + [Brand of Main Product] + [Main Product Name] + (other product title elements, if applicable)
It will make the listing look a mess but it will be compatible with Amazons rules…that is of course assuming you have permissions to edit the title and you can’t request a product change for a product that has had its detail page removed!!

Yep - Same for us. Any book mentioning VOLKSWAGEN removed.
I would understand if we were selling fake OEM Wiper Blades but these are factual books detailing the historical models that VOLKSWAGEN have built over the years - the Beetle, the Transporter etc.
Amazon is recognised as a place to buy books - at least that’s what I thought. With this sort of madness, say goodbye to books on FORD Capri’s, JAGUAR E-Types and any other make of car you can think of.
Who on earth sets these rules without any thought as the ramifications.

I have a few Haynes manuals listed but they have not been taken down…yet. They are not for VW, though.
The problem with these algorithms that Amazon employs is that they are literally mindless.
There is no substitute for the human mind. A computer can calculate at the speed of light but it can’t see the bigger picture.
Over-reliance on robots for tasks they are not (and probably never will be) suited is leading us up some very tangled paths and blind alleys.

Madness !
Yes, I do have several Haynes manuals listed, have sold many over the years, but not recently.
There was a time when many were moved from Books to Car and Motorcycle category.

I have the same … Amazon are sending out warnings for violating companies IP rights
After checking … Not only are mine listings that closed a decade ago … but they are also secondhand books where it mentions a Volkswagen model in the book title

Amazon please look into fixing this kind of automated messages

I had similar issue yesterday with 4 books about VOLKSWAGEN. In my experience, I’ve had no luck arguing the point. I delete the listings. Obviously, if you followed their/their algorithm’s logic, we’ll end up in an ever more illogical place than we are now…

Oh good. Not just me then. I have two such Volkswagen items. A quick look in my mail implies that I sold one of them in August 2012, and the other was probably active till yesterday.
I find the mails from Amazon impenetrable. I previously tried corresponding with them about this sort of issue and, like the poster above, got nowhere. Can anyone advise me on how to remove these, so that the alerts go away? I’m happy to switch them to Ebay. I also had some other complaints from Amazon a while ago about items that they said were overpriced, even though someone else had a higher price than I did and I had the lowest price! I kept putting one of them back up and they kept removing it. Ebay isn’t as convenient for me as listing as Buy-It-Now has a charge, and I only sell as a hobby.
I also have a ‘Restricted Products Policy Violation’ for an item that I sold in 2011. That got flagged in January 2022 and I don’t know how to clear that one up either.
