Amazon Sending out Thousands in Refunds?

I was selling a product on Amazon that perfectly followed it's TOS (verified by Amazon Support). Today, they determined that my product is no longer abiding by TOS and is a safety hazard and then they deactived my listing - totally fine since I haven't been selling that product for over 9 months. HOWEVER - they're now refunding all of my sales to customers - and I'm responsible for several thousand in refunds now? I don't get it.

If my product was following Amazon TOS at time of sale, and 9 months later they determine it doesn't - fine delete the listing. But now they're giving out voluntary refunds? Is this legal?

I am selling a tabletop Fire pit on Amazon. The same thing happened to me, they returned all the sales to the customers to my detriment. I don't understand why I am responsible

Is this for all sellers or limited sellers? Product listings are still active, and returns are coming in. Too many sellers are still active in the category. There are many things that are not understood. Can an Amazon manager answer this? WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

I don't know if I can delete my tabletop fire pit listings manually to avoid the incredible full refund…

Same thing happened to me. To the tune of $10,000 so far (lifetime revenue of over $400,000 across all sku's) . If it continues it will force me to close the business (even though the firepits are only a few of my products) and file for bankruptcy as my business is my sole source of income. This means selling my house, everything, literally destroying my life. Blanket refunds like this is just insanity.

exactly I have no idea what to do. Why are we responsible for items sold several months or even years ago just because of an Amazon policy change?

Our sales are currently continuing on active lists. All sellers are continuing to sell. Should we continue selling on this issue? Does anyone have an idea? Why isn't Amazon responding?

The same thing is happening to me! I will also have to file bankruptcy. I did not recieve anything tell me about refunds and within 12 hours of a notice that it was a safety concern they started! I have the paperwork they asked for. I have been calling and getting bounced around. What do we do!? This cannot be happening!
