£150 sale to EU, what to do with IOSS?

So im still hesitant to turn on my EU channels yet due to the current chaos.

The one question i have left is what will happen if i sell something over £150, as i recall Amazon wants all sale to be DDP (customs prepaid by seller).

Will Amazon pass the VAT on to myself so i can pay DDP ? will they sell the item without VAT ?

Im confused. Thanks

They should, yes. As it will not be an IOSS order. But until a seller confirms this is what Amazon are actually doing, who knows.

My understanding it that they’re only required to collect the VAT for orders under EURO150, so won’t collect the VAT on that order, and you go about it as you would have before IOSS numbers were a thing.

If I’m right, the problem then lie in whether Amazon have set their system up correctly to take the VAT only when they’re meant to.

All our products are over £150 and we only sell in the EU marketplaces. The only issue I have ran into is we cannot sell in France since the 1st July due to a new French VAT law. We ship from the UK into France and Amazon have put a stop to any orders over 150EUR from outside the EU going to France. Kind of killed 35-40% of our Amazon business, but this is a new venture for us, our main traffic is on our website.
