[Urgent Action Required] Please review Royal Mail Shipments Tracking

My VTR is in the low 80s and I have just received the following email from Amazon:

Hello,

Your account health is currently at risk given your valid tracking rate is below 95%.

We have identified that you are using a Royal Mail ship method and not providing tracking information per our announcement earlier this year.

It is important to note:

i) We require parcel IDs or tracking IDs for all Royal Mail ship methods, including delivery confirmation ship methods, such as Royal Mail 24®/48® and Royal Mail 1st and 2nd class small and medium parcel. If you are using a Royal Mail product that does not have a 2D barcode, please ensure you contact your Royal Mail account manager, or contact Royal Mail here : https://business.help.royalmail.com/app/contact.

It may take up to 10 days to have these services set up.

ii) If you’re using 1st and 2nd class large letters: you should contact Royal Mail directly to set up Royal Mail 24®/48®, which will provide a delivery confirmation for all large letter deliveries. You will not be able to confirm delivery of an order using a Royal Mail 24®, Royal Mail 48®, 1st class or 2nd class delivery method unless you provide the parcel ID. Please see our VTR help page for further information on how to upload tracking information here : https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/G201817070.

iii) If you’re shipping letter sized products (100 g, 24 x 16.5 x 0.5 cm) and you are not eligible for Royal Mail 24/48: please select either Royal Mail 1st or 2nd class Stamps/Franking from the drop-down.

iv) If your parcels are not scanned: Amazon will validate all unscanned tracking IDs with Royal Mail, including Royal Mail 24/48 and 1st/2nd class, and where you have correctly provided valid tracking, your offers will not be suspended for items not scanned by the carrier. You may also consider using Buy Shipping, which allows you to buy shipping labels through the Seller Central interface. You can link your Royal Mail account to benefit from your own rates and all tracking IDs received by Amazon through Buy Shipping are considered valid. For more details on how to use Buy Shipping, see the Use Buy Shipping services help page: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/G200202220.

Please find further information on our VTR policy and other FAQs here : https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/G201817070.

We send all our orders via royal mail crl which “should” have a delivery confirmation scan but as we are all aware Royal mail do not scan every package so it will count against the VTR, anybody any ideas how to fix this? All my items are under £20 if that helps? I’m worried they will just ban me for something out of my control which is unfair :frowning:

although this is worrying as they say it won’t affect account health - only offers in certain categories

@Jessica - please can this be clarified - amazon shouldn’t be sending out incorrect info threatening accounts when thats wrong

I have just had this same email. We are uploading all tracking info correctly. Our report showing tracking number : YES, Valid tracking ID : NO

This is for 1,100 of our items both 24/48 and 1st/2nd Class

It is honestly a nightmare, I am just hoping it is a generic email sent to threaten

I am generally worried :frowning: I am doing everything right, I can’t afford to send a £2.99 item with free postage fully tracked.

I have recevied a same email from Amazon. I send all my post via crl 48 and few of them via letter. My VTR IS STILL AT 60 %. I do not know what to do.

Do I panic or not? I keep getting this same email. I live 5 miles form a post office, so post my two or three items per day in local postbox. Sounds like using a tracking method would (a) make it slower, because it would have to wait till I got to the post office and (b) wipe out most of my profit anyway. Do I just sit tight and hope it is an idle threat? What do I put in the tracking box? (at the moment I put n/a)

I’m in the same boat. I post RM 48 and use an OBA account so my mail is left at the post office in sealed Royal Mail sacks and all tracking numbers are uploaded to Amazon as soon as I manifest. My latest warning message about My VTR being in the low 80’s has changed today and brings forward even more trouble. It said items over £5 must have 2 scans. I currently get 1 scan on attempted delivery. How is it possible for me to get 2 scans unless I stand at the post office all day and get every package scanned in? This stinks and looks to me as an impossible place to be as there are no alternatives to Royal Mail for a large letter shipper. Ironically this trouble started for me when I upgraded my postage from 2nd class with no scan to RM 48 with a delivery scan. I upgrade and get penalized.
The only other thing I can add is I noticed when I downloaded my VTR problem orders report every order concerned has not been delivered according to the Royal Mail tracking number. They actually have been delivered or I would have heard from the customer. So the postie forgot to scan on delivery. If I checked the weather on the day these items were “delivered” and the location I’ll bet it was heavy rain. Poor old posties, I’m not blaming you. I’m blaming Amazon for this mess.
