VTR (again - sorry!)
I’ve had my first warning email about my VTR rate threatening removal of my listings - ironically my VTR is almost 85% -the best its been since the new system started
So I only use my Royal Mail Click and Drop account.
I was previously using large letter BPL1, but that was not working for VTR.
Switched to large letter RM24 with the long tracking number beginning ‘32’ which automatically gets populated into the Amazon order page.
It appears that if the postie scans on delivery, I’m OK. The errors on my VTR report are unscanned deliveries -
So WITHOUT switching to Amazon Buy Shipping, is there anything I can do to improve this?
Many of you will say to just ignore the email, but it bothers me.

They are fine for vtr
If the emails really bother you , you could link your oba to amazon via
Settings - account info - buy delivery preferences - manage your carrier accounts - add RM
Which means you can start to buy RM24 (CRL) postage directly on amazon
You’ll then get 100% vtr .
You still get your RM24 prices and discounts etc. The only thing is that if you sell on other sites, you’ll have 2 manifests

May I ask why you say BPL wasn’t working for VTR? It should be the same as CRL (with a similar % and being validated behind the scenes)
What was your VTR % while using it? Did the reports look the same as the one in this post?
Also may I ask how you confirm your orders, its unusual to see C&D selecting “Royal Mail 48” in the Delivery Method, its usually Std_Dom_1 or something like that

There is some confusion here over what is in policy and what Amazon allows to be used.
Considering only RM options:
SFP - must be sent using a fully tracked next day service (only Special Delivery fits that criteria) but Amazon allows Tracked24 to be used as well
Premium 2 day - Amazon allows Tracked48 or CRL48 when buying label
Premium 1 day - Amazon allows Tracked24 or CRL24 when buying label
Now I know policy is that Premium 1 Day should use a service that delivers next day, and the only RM service that guarantees next day is Special Delivery and so it ‘should’ be used, but when buying labels via Buy Shipping, Amazon actually allows CRL24 and Tracked24 to be selected and used (which only say they deliver in 1-2 days)
Same with Premium 2 Day - policy is using a service that guarantees 2 day delivery, but Amazon allows CRL48 and Tracked48 to be selected (which is a 2-3 day delivery)
If Amazon has such criteria in policy it should only allow the appropriate service to be bought - but as shown above it does not. Amazon does limit options sometimes when it ‘thinks’ delivery promise cannot be kept so it is possible it can limit options for SFP, 1 Day etc to an appropriate service.
If you are using Buy Shipping and it is delivered late you are also protected from feedback reporting late delivery.
At the end of the day both SFP and Premium 1 Day both should be delivered within same timeframe 1 day window. But if a SFP item is delivered late, customers do not get any compensation - even though the extra cost of the 1 day delivery is built into the price - whereas with Premium 1 Day it is an extra cost.
When a customer pays extra for Premium 1 Day and it is delivered late they may ask for compensation - but it is also in Amazon Policy that such refunds do not have to be made. Instead it says to direct customer to the courier for such compensation.
At the end of the day you have to weigh up risks of falling foul of policy, customer satisfaction, etc.
There is no easy answer.

The only way to get your VTR up to 100% is to use Amazon Buy Shipping.
Link your RM account with Amazon, google how to somewhere. You are able to select your postage options. You will then pay your usual Royal Mail click and drop prices.
It will be charged to your Amazon account.
Print a RM manifest on Amazon for your Amazon Buy Shipping orders…Menu>Orders>Order Reports>End of Day Reports
Place the Amazon orders only in a mail sack and tie with the manifest as you do for your Click and Drop.
Process your RM manifest as you normally do for all other orders on other sites, such as those beginning with E ;-), place in a mail sack, tie with the manifest.
You will have 2 sacks for Royal Mail.
You will get 100% VTR this way, any orders that don’t receive a delivery scan will not be counted against you.

I’m getting these now too.
So Amazon policy says that if the item is not scanned at delivery, despite you doing everything right, they will impact your VTR.
I decided today that if this happens, i will raise a case against Royal Mail to refund me for the cost of the item plus the postage. It won’t do anything for Amazon, but it will not leave me out of pocket.

Hi, I used to use Royal Mail Click and Drop but only ever with 1st class (untracked) post. Amazon Seller brought in a new rule to say that any untracked postage must be bought through them. Since doing that, I have managed to get VTR to 100% easily. Its not as easy as Royal Mail Click & Drop but at least it keeps the Amazon Seller algorithms happy. Hope that helps.

Out of interest what does a VTR of “N/A” mean? I always had a good VTR rating and buy shipping myself from an accredited supplier (Evri).

Hi Dedez. I buy my own shipping direct with the carrier. These are all parcels around 1kg.
