VAT number - do you need to be VAT registered to sell?
Hi I am starting to sell on Amazon and have come across the VAT requirement, I am not VAT Registered and I will not be passing the 85k per year turn over, so do I still need to have a VAT number? or can I just sell as normal without any VAT registration as my yearly turnover will not reach anywhere close to the 85k? do I need to click or tick anything to make sure I am not charged wrongly etc? thanks!

as bon choix has correctly stated do not fall into the trap that many sellers do and buy from retailers to resell you will soon find yourself in trouble

Also, have a good read of Seller University - link at bottom of your seller homepage.
Are you registered with HMRC as self-employed (sole-trader) ?
That must be your first step as Amazon will require your UTR to set up your Business Seller Account.
If you have registered with an Individual Account then once you have received your UTR you will need to ask Amazon to change the legal entity of your account from Individual to Business.

Welcome,
Are you thinking to start a wholesale business, then you can’t claim the 20% VAT that’s 'd be deducted from Suppliers. Be careful.
Thanks and happy selling
