Postage charges (best to offer free postage?)
Hey,
We are looking to add postage to our items. It seems like our returns are getting out of control, so thinking maybe if we charge post it might help soften the blow when a buyer does return the item?
I would add it to the cost of the item, but it seems other competitors have got it so they have the postage on top (making the item look cheaper)
TIA x

Maybe you should be looking at why the returns are becoming a problem?
If your getting a lot of defective for instance, then it could be an issue with the product.
But if it’s just buyer remorse, they will be paying the cost of the return anyway, unless of course it’s something like clothes. Which of course there is traditionally a much higher rate of returns.

I don’t see how its a difference if its free post, or postage on top, if the buyer returns it they’re entitled to the postage back anyway.
And if you sell in the clothing category there is no balancing return costs, because returns are free for buyers and you’ll always pay it .
