Legal Action Against Amazon for Illegally Withholding and Not Releasing Funds (Disbursements) without a valid reason

Please can someone advise on how to commence legal action against Amazon for illegally withholding and not releasing our funds (Disbursements). This case relates to the confirmation of establishment status for VAT purposes in the UK. On 22nd August 2024, Amazon asked us to provide confirmation of our UK establishment status for VAT purposes. In the instructions they mentioned that we needed to provide a confirmation from the Individual and Small Business Compliance (ISBC) HMRC department. We obtained this confirmation letter from ISBC department of HMRC on 29th of August 2024 confirming that we are a UK established business for VAT purpose.

This letter confirming our UK establishment status from ISBC HMRC was submitted to the KYC-DRTAX-VERIFICATION TEAM (kyc-drtax-verification@amazon.co.uk).

Despite providing this letter from HMRC, the KYC-DRTAX-VERIFICATION TEAM (kyc-drtax-verification@amazon.co.uk) have rejected this as sufficient evidence of UK establishment status.

This action from AMAZON UK is ILLEGAL as per UK LAW and we want to file a legal case against Amazon for harassment and financial loss we are suffering because our disbursements have been blocked.

Please can someone advise how to initiate legal action against Amazon.

We have called up Account Health team on a number of occasions to get this matter resolved without any success.

Hello @Seller_6eGr2cYMV8mCx

This is Sarah with Amazon.

I see that you have already created a thread regarding this topic.

Please create only one thread per question. Creating duplicate threads can create confusion and disruption in the Forums and is against the Forums Guidelines.

I will be closing this thread as a duplicate of UK Established business for VAT purposes

Kind regards,

Sarah.
