Funds Frozen for Confusing Reason

So about two weeks ago I had a performance notification saying that my account had been suspended due to not declaring my agreement with new German tax obligations. I promptly went and declared them and received a message telling me that my account had been unsuspended.

Everywhere I look on my account it says that it is in good health and has no issues, apart from the payment page. My total balance has been made unavailable, when I click on the ‘view reason’ link, I’m take to a page that explains that my account has bee suspended and that I can appeal the reinstatement of my ‘priveleges’ (access to money I’ve earned) by following another link and clicking on a reinstate privileges button. This button isnt on the page…

It seems that Amazon have deemed it necessary to make the total balance of my account uavailable to me.

Seller central support have confused the issue further. I have been told multiple things; that my account is fine, that I need to wait for buyer feedback, that my account is under investigation.
It seems that every answer given is arbitrary.

The only other reason that they would have had for freezing my funds would be a return of an item: a customer requested a return, I obliged, but they haven’t returned the book so I haven’t issued the refund.

If there was a problem with that surely they’d tell me?

If anyone has had any similar issues and could help me out that would be great.

From your post it sounds like your account could be under a review.

Account reviews are very common following a successful reinstatement and can last up to 90 days.

Once you are confident that your account is under a review, you could follow the instructions presented within the Amazon help pages and e-mail the Seller Performance with following information:

  • How long you’ve been in business

  • The sources of your inventory

  • Anticipated monthly sales on Amazon

  • The availability of items for shipping

  • The address of any retail locations

  • Links to other Amazon websites where you are actively selling

  • Tracking information for recently dispatched orders

  • Your VAT number
