Knocking it on the head - Verification run around
Been on amazon selling since 2010 been through the verification process a few years ago, think I’ve uploaded documents a couple of times in the past, this week amazon have asked for re-verification again and don’t seem to want to accept any documents that I’ve uploaded, pretty much the same documents as last time however more recent versions
I’ve uploaded a tax reminder (as suggested on the email) - Not accepted
I’ve uploaded letter of authorisation (as suggested on the email) Not accepted
I’ve uploaded an online VAT certificate for the business (as suggested on the email) Not Accepted
I’m honestly at the point where I’m going to let it all just expire and close my account, I have no idea what I’m supposed to provide. it was straightforward when I verified a few years ago.
Why don’t they just explain what it is they actually want instead of sending a copy and paste email with the same useless info everytime. it tells you on the email what they require and then they don’t accept it?
I even rang HMRC and the guy was absolutely useless as well and he told me I’m not down as a partner on our own business!! they can’t send out anything until I passed some security questions, which I couldn’t pass either, Last time HMRC sent out the UTR for the business, this year that looks like an impossible task because the muppets we are dealing with, I can’t be bothered to deal with HMRC and I can’t be bothered to deal with the cryptic messages at amazon. Honestly why is something so simple being made to be so difficult??

Sounds like you are actually registered with hmrc as a partnership and not a sole trader ?
Are you a sole trader on amazon , or a partnership ?
If partnership, they will only accept a partnership utr confirmation letter - not your own SA reminder

It is usually the UTR confirmation letter that you get from HMRC that they accept despite saying other things are acceptable

I don’t get what that is, they are asking in legal terms, looked it up but dont know, i am starting out so tax returns won’t work

This happened to me recently as amazon expected my account had been hacked , when in fact my daughter just re installed the kindle app on her device when we were away for the weekend
Amazon blocked my account and i had to go through the whole verification process again
10 days with no sales
as no document was good enough
Had to get a new letter from HMRC stating that I was registered with them
fortunately for once HMRC were quick in responding .
Once account was reopened all my bank details had been deleted
so i re entered them and my immediately blocked again due to the fact they were the same Bank details that weere removed because Amazon believed they belonged to the hackers . WHICH THEY DID NOT. They are the same Bank details I have used on Amazon for 16 Years
