Whistl - an alternative to Royal Mail or a whole bag of trouble?

I’ve seen a few older topics on Whistl, but wondered if anyone has any recent experience of them?

I haven’t bothered in the past as I didn’t think their prices were worth the hassle, plus I’d still need to run a RM account/collection for RM 24 and SFP Tracked, and not sure if I like the 2-4 day delivery quote vs 2-3 RM.

However… they are coming in at around 40p a parcel less now with my volume, and 5p on LL - would equate to about £8k pa saving, and that’s without the International sorting options I use.

I also think I could probably increase my sales by 20+% just by pricing certain higher volume items lower.

But, having experienced RM/La Poste problems recently, not sure I want whole bags going awol…

Anyone using them and got good feedback?

haven’t used whistl

but a few years ago we used CityLink postal service
and erm, it was baaad

it was similar cost saving that you describe above - but it was not worth the aggro.

recently someone else called (might have been tnt - can’t remember)

basically they promoted it as being x-pence cheaper than royal mail 1st class
and came in between 1st and 2nd class RM prices.

in the end we just switched from RM24 to RM48 and made almost the same saving (ok not quite) but without the sleepless nights!
