How to stop FBA returning stock into inventory
Hello everyone - Can you help with some advice?
We are a UK based seller who participate in FBA.
We have been forever receiving complaints of opened packaging/incorrect item in packaging issues.
Like most sellers, we are confident in our own dispatch and believe these incorrect item scenarios are caused by disingenuous buyers; ones who return their old and unwanted product for a refund whilst retaining what was purchased from us.
Whilst the products should not be returned into stock as the packaging is opened (can not be opened without a seal being broken), we understand that the FBA warehouse workers will be over worked and are liable to make mistakes. It is not the singular losses that upset us, but more so having our listings removed due to customer complaints of this nature - that is the real ironic stinger.
Is there a way that we can have particular or even all SKUs avoid being inspected and returned into inventory by Amazon? Can’t we instead request that all returns of X SKU are compiled for a removal order?
This is the only solution we can think of to stop Amazon accepting and then shipping out doomed to fail stock in our name.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
We have some similar issues with nefarious customers returning used stock as faulty or sending back items that we don’t even sell.
With regards the opened stock Amazon (from our experience) set this to one side and when enough has built up they send it back on a removal order. You should be able to see what Amazon has done with the returned items via the ‘FBA returns report’ which you can access from the reports section under ‘Fulfilled by Amazon’. It will also have customer comments in there if the customer has left any.
Neil.

To change the setting for all SKUs:
- Hover over Settings at top right
- Click on Fulfilled By Amazon
- Change “Furbish Unsellable Customer Returns” to Disabled

Hello everyone.
I too have been looking into this. My issue is much the same…
- I have changed my settings so that Amazon will not undertake any refurbishment, and will instead return any items which need refurbishment to me.
- I have changed my settings so that amazon returns any unsellable inventory automatically
But…I am not sure that’s this deals with returns which Amazon consider sellable…how can I tell Amazon to return all returned items to me?
