Storefront without listing own products?

Hi, new seller here. I’m working with a registered brand to help them enroll in the brand registry and to create a storefront. I have 2 questions:

  1. Does registering the brand and “claiming” it mean we have any say in other listings of our branded products? eg. if they’re using old packshots in their listing
  2. The brand only manufactures the products - selling is done by retailers at the moment. Is it possible to set up a storefront a ‘list’ products that we’re not going to fulfil? By that I mean it lists lets say a product that lots of sellers in Amazon are already selling, and clicking on the product shows the product with the images we want, and in the ‘sold by’ list it has the sellers that are able to sell the product. I’m thinking it would match with the GTIN we provide for the product.

Thanks very much!

None of your post makes much sense. If the brand is already “registered” why does it need to be enrolled in brand registry? Or do you mean it is a registered trademark with the UKIPO?

Why create listings for products that you don’t intend to sell? Creating a listing implies that you want to sell it

What exactly are you trying to achieve? To stop other sellers selling this “branded” product? Or to give them a listing for the brand that they can sell on? But you say they are already selling on here, which means the listing already exists

Do you have any idea how Amazon actually works?

I used to work for a big brand and they get special deals with Amazon negotiated with head office. That brand was allowed a storefront because so many people were selling their products - so Amazon allowed a marketing opportunity as such. I think you need to be very big for that. It took ages anyway and was no direct remuneration so I think said brand regretted starting the whole thing!

I may be wrong but I think you have to be a seller to have a storefront in general. You can become brand registered and then you would probably have more control of the listings (not guaranteed). So you could set up a listing with the image that best reflects the brand and that image will then be used across the shared listings - assuming products all have barcodes that sellers have entered correctly. You would have to sell that product though. You could try pricing it higher so you don’t get the buy box but that’s risky if you don’t want to fulfil but also not sure how that would then work for pulling your info on the listing over other sellers.

I’m only guessing sorry - experts here will probably have better advice! X
