How confident are we posting this Bank Holiday weekend?
After the mayhem of the Easter Bank Holiday, what are everyone’s plans for posting around this Bank Holiday? (I’d be especially interested to hear any advice from the people who work for the Post Office as to how it’s likely to pan out.)
I have already dropped what post I could to a local post box with a last collection of 9am in the morning, I am hoping this might give it a little head start and maybe get it through the system at this end before the Bank Holiday tomorrow.
I’m a little more concerned about anything due to be posted later today, I have the option of a 1pm and 5pm pick up at the local Post Office or 6pm at the Main Post office.
Am I better off hanging on to these until Monday?

We have not been dropping our sacks off at post office for last 6 weeks but gone to sorting office. They do normal Saturday operation, so can use that for over-spill today.

My local Postie is a mate calls round every morning to collect my outgoing post.No collections tomorrow.Posties are working as normal Saturday(no letter deliveries until further notice) collections are as normal with my Main Post office box last collection 12pm Saturday.

We are posting as normal except that we are going to take Thursday evenings and Fridays post down to the sorting office on Saturday morning as no collection on Friday.

I suspect the problems will come with everything that goes out on Monday.
The last bank holiday issue seemed to be mainly on items that went out on the Tuesday.
The saving grace might be that its not a 2 day bank holiday and the lack of letters now going out on a Saturday.
I can’t decide but need to quickly!!

There is an incentive here to pad out large letters to make them packets, so they want them off their hands quicker !

Well I seem to still have items AWOL from the last bank holiday still. So I won’t be posting anything now until at least middle of next week and it will all be signed for if it’s LL size.

We drop off post on a Saturday so a Bank Holiday Friday is better as Friday is slower… and we can still get rid of Thursday’s and Friday’s orders and Saturday mornings gone on Saturday and then drop off as normal on Monday… The delivery times are so long at the moment I’d be worried if Royal Mail couldn’t deliver by then… We’re starting to go about 2 and a half weeks ahead now on the delivery dates.
