Lost A to Z claim for item delivered by Royal Mail Tracked 48
Hi,
Im hoping for some advice regarding an A to Z claim that has been found against me for an item delivered to a customer using
the Royal Mail Tracked 48 service.
The customer claimed item not recieved.
Item tracking states that the package was delivered early.
I appealed the A to Z decision stating:
“ The order 204-2272849-2141110 was shipped on Mon, 11 Oct 2021 with tracking number JC199002815GB using Amazons recommended tracked delivery service Royal Mail Tracked 48. The shipment can be tracked using this link: https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/tracking-results/JC199002815GB The tracking shows that the package was delivered to the customer on 14 Oct 2021. Please re-investigate the claim since the order was delivered before the estimated delivery date. Best regards,”
The appeal was then rejected on the basis that there was no signature but I believe a signature requirement is not Amazon policy?
The customer has been refunded and I have a fault recorded on my account.
Royal mail have confirmed that if I make a claim against them it will be rejected as the item was delivered to the customers address.

The signature is required for amazons policy but RM Tracked does not require a signature
From the policy -
- For delivery related claims: Dispatch method, proof of delivery provided by the carrier including tracking number, customer’s delivery address, customer’s signature confirmation and carrier details.

You don’t even get protection even with a signature as
- Carriers including Royal Mail are still not taking signatures because of covid
- Even if they did the buyer would just claim its not their signature
pre-covid just search the forums for the amount of posts about a-z’s being granted even with a signature.
