I know this has been discussed at length, but I can't seem to find a solution anywhere.
I was checking my payments account and noticed that there was a USPS overage adjustment. I receive no notification from Amazon, but luckily I checked my payments account.
I checked the order that was listed and the item and the details and reached out to Amazon because it was showing the weight was different. When I reached out to Amazon support they said it had nothing to do with the weight, that it was a dimensions issue. They told me that the package was 7x6x4 but the post office measured it at 7x4x6 so that was the overage. I responded and said that's literally the exact same dimensions, they just held the package a different way when measuring.
After I was able to settle the dimensions issue, all of a sudden they come back and tell me it's the weight, not the dimensions. I know for a fact there is no way that my package could have been over the weight. My packages are between 7.1oz and 7.6 oz, and I put in that it was an 8 oz package. USPS is saying that the package was just shy of a pound.
Seller support kept telling me that they were denying my dispute, several times I stated I was trying to dispute through USPS not through them. They told me they could not file a dispute through USPS but I could. So I asked for the information that I needed to be able to file a dispute and they told me they couldn't give me the information.
I then took pictures of the exact item and all of my packing materials, and also took pictures of it on the scale to show that the package only weighed 7.1 oz. So I provided proof that there was a mistake on the USPS end. Amazon is now telling me that they cannot find other dispute, and now I can't file the dispute, so basically I just have to deal with it.
How can I get this taken care of? I provided proof, I've been lied to several times, I was told they had nothing to do with the weight but now all of a sudden it does because they can't pin it on dimensions anymore. I was told I could dispute it but then I asked for the information now they're telling me I cannot dispute it.
At this point, it kind of feels like theft. They are charging me, they are not allowing me to dispute it with the carrier, they're telling me just to deal with it, even though I provided photo evidence. USPS allows disputes on these things for a reason, because mistakes can be made.
What can I do? Has anybody had any luck?
