I have been a registered Amazon seller for more than two years and have been operating and paying taxes legally in Germany. I also registered my user name as my brand name.

Last Monday I received a notice from Amazon that my seller account was deactivated because my seller account was linked with another seller account, which has the same name as my brand name. - That is, Amazon determined that my own account was associated with myself!

My personal guess is that I went to Paris to attend an exhibition last weekend, during which I used the public free wifi in the exhibition hall and at the Paris airport. At the same time, other sellers may have also used the wifi to log in.

I explained this to the Amazon team and provided them with the authorization letter from the third-party service company (the tax agency in Germany) to access Amazon data, monthly bills paid to the tax agency, and bank transfer records as requested. But my appeal was still rejected. I can't find any additional documents.

I am sure that I only have one Amazon seller account and my account information has not been shared with others or stolen (I only use my own laptop to log in).

But now I totally don't know is there are any other documents I can upload and I don't know what else I can do to make Amazon realize that they made a mistake in stopping my account.

Please help share your experience and suggestions......

Amazons titles costing us money.
In reply to: Seller_KlbXZHzQGSDZv’s postby Seller_Fg2fqaWOnEtha

It's one of my biggest problems on Amazon, if I could actually correct the listings of all the products I could sell, my Amazon earnings would be a lot higher. Sadly, SS is very hit and miss on these issues with a ratio of 1 hit to 9 misses, which means it's not always worth it to waste time like that.

Ironically, I am allowed to list these brands products but I cannot correct the listings, because only the 'brand owners' can do it, which is funny as they are not even on Amazon.

Amazons titles costing us money.
by Seller_KlbXZHzQGSDZv

We have had 2 returns initiated recently due to errors in the titles of an item.

B07TS8WQVP

Amazon Title - Annie Pattern, with Zip

Title should be IMHO - ByAnnie Out and About PBA282 sewing instructions to make your own Rucksack / Backpack / Knapsack in two sizes. Clear concise instructions

We listed on this item via the upc format.

However the title is incorrect both grammaticaly and factually which has caused one of the returns (amazon automatically issued a return label costing us £3.30 for a letter sized item below 100g on an item that we are selling for £12.50 inc postage))

We have tried many times to correct several of these but as on this one where someone has lited it as a brand called annie instead of the correct ByAnnies you get stumped when trying to get anything changed. Have tried today to add some bullet points to possibly reduce the amount of returns bt they have not come through yet.

There seams to be a policy of just blocking/making a simple operation very difficult any changes asking for hi res photos etc or supplier details and when we look through our listing we probably have 100+ of these that we would like to change the name to the correct one but dont have the time to jump through all the hoops that amazon want to put in the way when it is obvious that the original poster has made a mistake on the listing.

Hello Sellers,

I've noticed sellers facing issues on the Seller Forums, receiving violations on marketplaces where they don't actively sell, even with their accounts in Holiday Mode.

As an Amazon seller registered for multiple marketplaces within a region, you may later decide not to actively sell on certain ones. However, neglecting inactive marketplaces can lead to violations and impact your account health.

Here's a checklist to help you manage your account and listings effectively when you don't want to sell on a specific marketplace:

  • Put Your Account on Holiday Mode to prevent new orders and pause listings on the inactive marketplace, avoiding potential issues from unfulfilled orders. 📄Enable holiday mode
  • Delete all listings from the inactive marketplace's inventory. Even inactive (out-of-stock) listings can trigger violations affecting your account health, so it's crucial to remove them. 📄How can I delete specific product listings or replace all my listings?
  • Review and remove Build International Listings connections between your default and inactive marketplaces to prevent new listings from being created automatically. 📄 Remove a connection using Build International Listings
  • Regularly monitor the Account Health Dashboard and Performance Notifications for inactive marketplaces to quickly address any potential issues or violations.📄 Account health FAQ

Preventing Violations on Inactive Amazon Marketplaces: A Seller's Guide
In reply to: Seller_gAhPNiLrkfTcr’s postby Seller_tcjTAYWS9J4EP

We should just be able to deactivate it. All of what you suggested I had already done and still got deactivated for something to do with paying tax in the US, which is in holiday mode and hasn't had anything on it for 2 years

FBA buyer filed court case against us due to not getting refund
In reply to: Seller_wBqEgBC1MTJWu’s postby Seller_mS10UjVYuuGor

That sounds like someone trying it on to see if you also refund them. If the buyers account has been suspended by Amazon there is no bigger red flag that something is iffy about that account.

If you already have proof that you refunded them via Amazon (in writing from Amazon) you just need to present that evidence to the money claim. They paid Amazon not you so really any case they may have is against Amazon.

Gift cards have no monetary value so I suspect the person was trying to use up the gift card and be refunded in cash using your item as a vessel to achieve that.

In reply to: Seller_wBqEgBC1MTJWu’s postby Seller_76AUwmqvSyRIM

Sorry to hear this.

I know this won't be a helpful comment to you, for which I apologise, however for other sellers that may also be tempted to refund an FBA return themselves instead of letting Amazon to deal with the refund - DON'T.

This is 100% Amazon's responsibility and refunding could easily lead to such issues and many others.

Similarly, never refund if an A to Z is raised. Always let Amazon handle it, even if you believe that a refund is justified.

book pricing.
by Seller_N0kQDKMgwda6y

Can ANYONE make any sense of Amazons pricing policy ? I have had books deactivated for overpricing when it was rare, mine was the only one on Amazon and those few on ABE were £10 more. I was asked to provide a 'reference price' which was presumably the new price in about 1980 !

Now I have had another removed so I looked up the others for sale. Mine was £38. Ther are two at £30, which was not the case when I first listed as I am always the cheapest like for like. But there are three at £80, and the one new copy ( surely their 'reference price' ) is over £200 !

I cant make any sense of it at all. Book prices on Amazon are totally random. I have seen prices ranging from 10 to 200 for the same book and Amazon is mostly happy with it. But when one of the bucket shops puts up a valuable book for a ridiculous price i am suddenly expected to match it. I would rather take it down the charity shop. ( mind you, thats where the bucket shops get some of their books )

Is it just me or does this happen to others ?

book pricing.
In reply to: Seller_nT7psArrIHc2I’s postby Seller_1Pr83SwcQbIUJ

I probably get 1 a day, copy the wording add another condition and call it collectible, I guess that's what the other higher price ones are.

I also delete the listing with the high price notification as last time I reopened my account after a holiday loads of previous high price items went live again

Seems ok to do as long as out if print, or if not signed or limited edition

Should not apply to second hand books
