Amazon click and collect?

Hello all.

A customer has sent us a ‘where’s my stuff’ message about an order he placed last week, with the following statement “I haven’t received the bar code email for the post office to collect my item”.

The item was delivered on Friday inside the EED.

Looking at the sales order details, the item was addressed to a post office but nowhere on the details does it state this was a click and collect transaction. On eBay there is always a eCP code that tells us that this is a click and collect transaction.

So really my questions are:

  1. Do Amazon do click and collect sales in the first place?
  2. How are we supposed to tell the difference between a normal sale and a C and C sale
  3. If they do how come there is no code of sorts to inform the destination address?
  4. The item was delivered but as the customer was not informed of the delivery where does this leave us in case of a future A to Z?

From Amazons FAQ page for C+C:
Offer your products to Amazon customers who live within a 30 miles radius of your retail stores or warehouses. By offering Click & Collect in store , Amazon customers will be able to easily learn that your products are available for in-store pick-up.

Not sure how they got it C+C to a post office, as this just states store or warehouse

Could this be that the buyer has put a local post office address down [does not even work there]
on the presumption that they can collect it accordingly.

also dont think the Post office do barcodes for collections do they?
