Can you different product variations in the same package?

If so, how because when I try I just get message saying that my parent ASIN can’t be fulfilled by Amazon and that I can only send inventory using the child Asins

Presumably for example, you parent would just be ‘men’s large tshirt’ and your children would be red, blue, green etc
Therefore the parent would be unfulfillable as its the variations (children) that denote the actual product
