Delivering to delivery depot
I have heard that some bigger sellers deliver their products straight to the depot of the couriers for a cheaper price. Has anyone had any experience with that

Of course this kind of thing is possible.
But it will be fully with the agreement of said courier. And I would imagine, that to make this kind of thing worthwhile, the quantities must be pretty large. Along with delivering to a depot, that isn’t on the other side of the country.
It is also possible to deliver direct to the FBA warehouses, if the various rules are followed.
But is it cost effective? That’s another thing entirely.

Not person experience, but generally when you are at that scale it is when you are NEXT or similar with 10pm order cut-off times. They will have their own lorries from their warehouses going to the courier main hubs (eg. Birmingham) for national distribution.
For instance, if we have had missed collections, I’ve dropped stuff off at the local hub - but the cutoff there is still usually 7pm or 7.30pm because it has to be routed up to Birmingham for national routing.
It will vary by the courier and location, and of course they will have their own processes for accepting bulk dropoff at their hub locations.
