Does sending products into FBA affect your listing placement for sponsored ads

The last few times we have sent a product into FBA our sponsored ranking for all the keywords on that product seem to completely drop out of the top 100 listings as soon as they are booked in by amazon.
Is this related and does FBA affect your sponsored ads even if only temporarily?

The only way I can it affecting the advertising, is that prior to being delivered, they will have the product on sale.
Then when it’s received, it tends to go into FC transfer etc until it is actually available in the warehouse it’s going to. This would then have the effect of it not being advertised, whilst you don’t have the buy box.
As the advertising only works, when you actually have the buy box.
