General IOSS questions

Ive had a customer make two orders and each one was below the 150 euro limit.

Without thinking about it I sent them both via DPD to give the customer a bettter experience and presented the value of both order combined and used Amazon’s IOSS number as they took the tax.

DPD has then decided to add the value of their own shipping cost to the value of the goods which takes them above 150 euros and is now demanding the tax again.

I have paid their demand to allow the goods to get to the customer but now want explore the possibility of DPD returning it back.

Unfortunately it was sent via Parcel2Go who are not being helpful. Their site can only handle sterling values which has made this even more messy.

My questions are

Can one parcel hold multiple orders and have a total value over 150 euros and use IOSS?

if not - is the only way to send multiple shipments?

Finally - If this order is returned or perhaps not even delivered… is there a reclaim mechanism for DDP transactions?

I actually have my own IOSS which I obtained via the EU state of Italy but cant work out how to file returns so Ive never used it. My Italian accountant doesn’t know either.

Any help is greatly appreciated

We’ve been using UPS directly for the last couple of months. They are much cheaper than the brokers and we’ve had no issues at all. We use the IOSS of the site where the item was purchased (eBay, Amz, Etsy, etc).

One of my staff found this by accident.

£12.19 for a 2kg parcel to France on a 2-day service.

No

Yes

No. Funds are paid to the government of the importing country. They are not recoverable unfortunately. Neither will you recover the handling fee paid to the courier, because they have still done the work.

It appears from the information DPD are doing your customs clearance. Could I ask which forms did you complete and attach to the parcel? CN22 or CN23

Hi all, does anyone know if I can claim back the IOSS VAT for returned / rejected / non delivered parcels to the EU from the Uk Via royal mail? I am having an avalanche of returns as the customers refuse to pay double vat, so refuse the items.

The items were sold through Amazon and the IOSS number and their order number are on the front of the parcel and a clear and correct CN22 on the reverse, but still the returns.

It is a joke, so much so I’m consider pulling out of selling in Europe as its just not worth it any more.
Surely there has to be a solution?

We are only a mico business and this is really killing us!! Help!
