You are right! The title of this post doesn't make sense. .

I am trying to list a 1960s paperback published by The New English Library (NEL). My book doesnt have an ISBN. The listing already on Amazon shows the Publisher to be Hodder and there are are both a short isbn and a long one. (I HATE ISBNs!!!!!) . What seems to have happened is that the original lister has looked up the information on Neilsen and found that NEL has been taken over by Hodder and it has now been given an ISBN. So far this is not an uncommon occurrence with thousands of old books being misleadingly shown to have ISBNs. My case goes a little further. I tried to list my book with that listing but got the message that I needed to get permission to list Hachette books. Stodder have been taken over by Hachette.

To get permission to list an Hachette book Amazon give me a list of things which I cannot possibly produce - eg invoices from Hachette!!.

I can never understand why there is a blind acceptance of ISBNs.

Am trying to list a set of six new books - part of a series. Amazon won't let me add the individual ISBN's on the add a product page - only one ISBN at a time - any ideas how I get around this? Seems that you can only list individual books on Amazon, not sets.

I'm new to Amazon and have found the process of listing second hand books to be an absolute pain. First my accounts got deactivated then deactivated in the US which deactivated my UK shop.

Listing the books is horrendous - put in the isbn - then trawl through reams of info for each book, assuming you dont have to apply for permissions which then simply refuses me unless I can prove orders of 10 from the publisher ( I cant they're second hand books).

then when Ive finally listed 6 (after a couple of hours!) I am stuck without knowing if the actual books have been listed. Yes I can use other software to list but in the same time frame I listed these 6 on amazon I managed to list 85 books on eBay - so simple.

If anyone can help with this please let me know - maybe im just not meant to be on amazon!
