Amazon’s systems are in a real mess.
On 25th Oct I upgraded to Amazon Merchant Pro. Within 30 seconds I received an email confirming and billing me (£25/mo in UK). I simultaneously received a second email saying my account had been deactivated. So the upgrade to Pro triggered account deactivation on an account that has been up and running for months now.
Since then I’ve performed ID verification and submitted utility bills several times. I am getting a deluge of emails repeatedly asking me to do more ID verifications, but the link I’m taken to don’t let me execute such verification.
I’ve spent hours on calls with their “help” team who have been completely unhelpful. They’ve even told me NOT to click on the links in the emails they send to me because a “technical error” means their system doesn’t know what the status is. They keep telling me to “wait 5 days” before calling back despite asking me to call back as soon as I get another email asking to do an ID verification (I had one on the 1st Nov and another on the 3rd Nov). Their help team have also said that upgrading to a Pro account had nothing to do with my account being deactivated despite both things happening instantaneously.
I’m now losing valuable pre-Christmas trading time, and am being told again to “wait 5 days” before they can do anything. Any ideas what’s going on? It sounds like their system is in a mess, and they aren’t properly managing the personal data I’ve sent them.
