Customer ordered qty 2 by mistake, shipped 1, how to cancel other unshipped order?
A customer purchases qty 2 of an item by mistake and only wants 1 shipped out, contacts us and lets us know. We ship 1 item, and then in Amazon it shows this
Usually when this happens, I just mark the order as dispatched and then refund the customer. But now with the VTR in force, I don’t want to do it that way. There doesn’t seem to be an option inside the order where you can just cancel 1 of the items. Only to cancel the whole order, or to partially refund, but this won’t remove the unshipped status of the order.
Any idea how to deal with this correctly rather than marking it as dispatched then refunding? Cheers

You should have asked them to cancel the entire order and reorder the one they wanted. Amazon does not make anything easy.
The only thing you can do now is cancel the one you did not send and take the hit. if your pre-cancellation rate is low, it won’t affect your account.
