Hello! @Friendly_ecofireplac

This is Roberto. Thank you for using the Forums, I am sorry you received a negative comment from a customer, I wanted to follow up on your post and ask you for more details.

Was the comment feedback left on the order? Or a product review? Can you please provide me with more details about this?

Regards,

Is it the Product Review left on

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ethanol-burner-container-firebox-adjustable/dp/B0D4C1YB8K/

If so, you've got two reviews that state similar - that the listing stated it would last 4 hours and it lasted an hour. Have you changed the listing at all?

SCAM is actually the customer name.

Hi

Thank you for answer my qiestion. I changed that because people can't read. I wrote that it burns for 4h/l because the manufacturer gives the burning time per liter of fuel and the container holds a maximum of 0.29 liters, so it's my fault that someone didn't read it to the end.

I’d say if the listing was unclear as to what the product could do then the reviews are valid and you are doing the right thing by amending the listing.

I’ll be honest with you, I’m still unsure after reading what the product does, it would help though to have a burn time on there, even if it was range.

State maybe burn time from 40 - 80 mins if that is what it can achieve. Currently you state burn time depends on how long lid is open which doesn’t tell the customer anything useful or beneficial

You're right, but the manufacturer counts the burning time per 1 liter of fuel, what should I do if people don't read with understanding. In each of my offers I had information about the time calculated per liter, although not every container has a capacity of 1 liter. I also added information that it can be extended if I use a adjustable lid.

It’s up to you to know the product.

Now I know nothing about this product but if so ething has a burn time of4 hours per litre and I know the volume of the product (though your listing states several volumes) then you’d know the burn times. You also separately refer only half filling the product.

Make it clear. Indicate the volume that particular product is capable of, and what the burn time of THAT volume approx is from a minimum to a maximum. You’re still leading with a burn time of 4hrs per litre. I personally wouldn’t do that as the customer is being forced to work something out.

Good morning

Thank you for you help :)

I changed the description as you suggested. In the description I have several fuel capacity values and each value depends on how the product will be used. Now I have how much the burner burns per hour and an example of how much it will burn when filled to the max 0.2l mark. Do you think everything is fine now?

The burning time is calculated for one liter of fuel, but not every burner will fit this amount. The burning time with the lid fully open is up to 4 hours 30 minutes/1 liter of fuel. 0.2l should burn for up to 54 minutes. The burning time can be extended by closing the lid

0.35l capacity without wool insert 0.2l fuel to indicator max 0.29l max fill recommended for non free-standing devices

The main purpose of the adjustable lid is flame control but if you want to use it to kill the flame don't kill it too quickly if there is a significant amount of fuel in the container it may damage it (inside burner is a high temperature and pressure). If you have any questions just ask

Is the details I assume - to me, personally, its all too confusing. As a customer, I don't want to know about how the burning time is calculated - I just want to know, for the item on the page, what is the estimated burn time. If the product can't hold a litre - I don't want to know about the burn time for a litre - if you need this somewhere - I'd add it to the longer description, not in the bullet points.

Try putting it into Chat GPT or equivalent and ask it to make the above more understandable - see what it suggests.

You're kind of right, but you're also wrong. These are not my data, but the data of the factory that produces the burners. There is always the capacity of the burner without the ceramic insert, and then the value up to the max indicator and above the max indicator. I don't know, but I have the impression that Amazon buyers, sorry for the word, are stupider than those who buy on eBay. I've been selling on eBay for 10 years and no problems on Amazon for a few months, and I'm happy that my consumers don't understand what they're reading.

I gave an example of how much fuel is burned, 0.2l to the max indicator, if someone doesn't want to count. Do you think that if I post this to the GP chat, someone will use it when people can't read with understanding? Earlier I had it described simply, but I guess it wasn't too simple for someone to understand. Between us, I have sold about 3,000 different burners and I have had one case in 10 years on eBay and two cases since August on Amazon - it is easy to calculate what percentage it is.

but you are the one marketing it. Emphasis on marketing.

Think shampoos. A shampoo is a shampoo. What is nutra ceramide R? I don’t know, but the adverts used to make a big deal that we should care.

At the end of the day, if you feel you are happy with the listing and you are getting a low level of complaints, I’d leave it. You need to weigh up if it’s worth changing. But this is amazon…you will get complaints!

Was only trying to suggest a way to make it more understandable.

You are right, but I am a seller and I have information from the manufacturer who gives the burning time in relation to 1 liter of fuel. It is the same how much heat the burner produces, here it is always given by the manufacturer its maximum value when the burner is fully open, but if the burner is half closed there will be less heat. You can't give a range like 30-60 minutes. It's the same with a car, it shows you fuel consumption per 100 km/mile, not how much you can travel on 1 liter.
