Changing the account holders name
Hello,
I have just changed my account holders name from X to Y. The reason why we have changed the names is because our new bank account is created in Y’s name. We have just received a message from amazon with some questions about the changes - they are asking this:
– The reason for changing the business registered on your Selling on Amazon account.
– The relationship between your current business and the new business you want to register.
– The name, including legal entity, of the new business you want to register. Examples of legal entities are sole proprietorship, limited company, and non-profit organization.
– Confirm if your current business will continue to exist.
– Confirm all the beneficial owners of your current business. A beneficial owner is a natural person who directly or indirectly owns 25% or more of the shares or voting rights in your business.
– Confirm the country of establishment of the new business.
– Confirm the all beneficial owners of the new business.
Why do they ask business related questions, when it is the account holders name that has been changed and not the business? We are still running the same business and we have not established a new one - the only change is the account holders name…
Thank you

Because a new account holder should open a new account.
Except under strict circumstances an account cannot be transferred so simply
"changing an account holders name’ is actually a transfer of the business from one person to nother and not normally permitted.
