Please Help:Seller account susspended due to fair price policy violation

I got a notice for account suspension.

Below is the message.
Hello,

Your account has been deactivated. Your selling offers have been removed. The money will not be transferred to you but will remain in your account while we work with you to address this issue. This may take up to 90 days. Please ship any open orders to avoid any further impact on your account. You can view balance and settlement information in the “Payments” section of the seller’s center. If you have any questions regarding this information, please email payments-funds@amazon.ae.

Why did this happen?
As mentioned in a previous notice, one or more product sale offers on your account violate the Amazon fair pricing policy (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/G5TUVJKZHUVMN77V). Please visit the Sales Offer Violation section to determine a specific ASIN number (s) violating this policy.

How do I reactivate my account?
To reactivate your account, please visit your account status dashboard (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/performance/dashboard). Click on the reactivate my account button to send an action plan that addresses the above violations. The correct business plan must include the following:

  • The root cause (root causes) of policy violation.
The actions you took to solve these problems.
  • Steps you’ve taken to prevent a future policy violation from occurring.

If you believe your account was mistakenly deactivated, follow the instructions at the bottom of the “reactivate your account” page and provide the following information:

  • Explanation of the reason why the deactivation should be reversed.
Evidence to support your belief that this was a mistake.

We are here to help.
You can view your account performance at (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/performance/dashboard) or select “Account Status” on the home screen of the Amazon seller app on your iOS or Android device. The Account Status dashboard shows how well your account is performing against performance metrics and policies needed to sell on Amazon.

The root cause of the issue
I understand that my account was deactivated due to the violation of Amazon’s fair pricing policy for the forehead thermometer product.
The root cause of this issue is as follows

  1. Due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, there is a severe shortage of these thermometers in the market due to which we have to pay more to obtain them.
  2. Due to the lockdown in Dubai, there are very few suppliers that have this item. You may verify on below link of Gulf News
    https://gulfnews.com/living-in-uae/ask-us/coronavirus-dubai-24-hour-restrictions--all-you-need-to-know-1.1586076134137?slide=3
  3. Most of the Amazon sellers of this product, who are selling this product at low prices are shipping directly from China, the price of sellers from UAE is more.
  4. I have purchased this product from a supplier in Ajman for AED 485 (invoice attached) and after including 5% tax it becomes AED 509.25 and Amazon’s commission is roughly 10% which makes the price AED 560 due to which I priced this item higher.

The actions that you have taken to resolve the issue

  1. As soon as I received the email from the listing team I have removed all the thermometer products from my inventory, I was told I have 24 hours to review my listings, however the account was deactivated in less than 12 hours, when the account was deactivated those ASINs had been deleted from my inventory.

2)I have scanned my entire inventory for any products that are priced higher than other similar product and have removed them and these products will not be relisted.

  1. I have updated prices of all my items to match with other competing offers.
  2. I have deleted any products that have been listed more than once with different prices.

The steps that you have taken to prevent the issue going forward

  1. Before listing any product I will compare all the prices offered by other sellers and ensure that it is in compliance with Amazon’s fair pricing policy.
  2. If any product is not profitable within the price range I will not list that product.
  3. I will ensure that my products are sold at the lowest possible price on Amazon.

Hi goldapple_uae,

I understand from this post, your selling privileges have been removed due to violating Amazon’s Marketplace Fair Pricing Policy, as it relates to price gouging and you’re appealing for your account reactivation. After reviewing your appeal I would like to provide some points to consider.

If you can address the below pointers in your root cause it will add greater details to root cause: What did you price your products at exactly? How much does this item normally sell for? What was its average price last year? Were you aware that the price you had it set at pushed beyond our acceptable threshold for pricing?

This is a good start to becoming compliant with our policies. However, are you advertising your current products at the right price now? Which policy pages have you reviewed to rectify the issue? What can you take away from this learning experience? Are there any other actions you took regarding these concerns?

I would focus on adding a few more measures to your points. In regards with comparing prices offered by other Sellers, please be specific as to which stores you look at and how often will you continue to refer back to them, in order to remain competitive but acceptable? How regularly would you evaluate your pricing to ensure it is in line with Amazon’s fair pricing guidelines? Do you use an automatic repricer, or do you price your products manually? What procedures will you follow while reviewing ASINs prior to listing on your account to prevent you from receiving a fair pricing violation notice? The goal is to make sure our Selling Partners are aware of our policies and have processes that take them into consideration when setting their prices.

I hope this feedback is helpful for your appeal. The forums community and I are here to help if you have additional questions.

Good luck for your appeal.

Noah
