Dangerous Goods regulation - Vague compliance request

We recently received a compliance request from Amazon stating that our product is classified under Dangerous Goods, but the request itself is very vague and unclear.

It’s a DIY Craft Kit, and the potentially regulated components are small tubes of paint, which we understand falls under chemical-based products.

To comply, we submitted the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for the paints, assuming this was the primary concern. However, Amazon rejected the SDS without specifying why, and the compliance notification lacks any specific guidance on what's missing or what needs to be corrected.

Still, the request remains unresolved.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Were you able to find out exactly what Amazon was expecting? Did they clarify the issue after repeated submissions? Is there a specific contact point or workaround for vague Dangerous Goods compliance requests?

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated. We want to resolve this quickly but are stuck without knowing what exactly needs fixing.

Hello @Seller_4fqi35xIuE0AE,

Thanks for reaching out. In order to assist you with this, can you please provide your Seller Support case ID so I can take a look for you? = If you have not created a case yet, please start there and provide me with your case ID if they are unable to help you after they complete their investigation.

Regards,

Michelle

You need to create a case mentioning those ASINs, and the Seller Support team will tell you why this happened. We faced this issue and are currently working on it because the brand name on the SDS and the detail page were conflicting. It might be the same reason in your case.

Hey, we've opened a ticket 18028920831 and the latest doc we submitted is being reviewed. However, we still aren't sure what were the problem with the docs we PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED, it's like a never ending guessing game, we keep sending docs and still not enough. Please, let someone communicate with us clearly in the ticket about what's the matter with the previous docs especially that we can only attach one file at a time.

We have run into this.

@Seller_O96xeuysUYIZM is on the right track. The SDS must match the title of the detail page. Even if you have other products that use the same component. This is the only thing that will get you through.

It is frustrating, annoying and Amazon is the only company in the world that requires this. The normal method is to have one SDS outlining the details on a product or component. Never a requirement to have multiple, even thousands of SDS sheets for a product line using the same component.
