Return request authorised but not followed through by the buyer
Hi there,
I received a request to return an item which was no longer needed. I received the request only hours after I had mailed the item. I authorised the return immediatly as I did not want to get into any bother and was prepared to take this one on the chin.
Amazon provided a return label, however the return has never arrived.
There is a permanent box on my Amazon Seller Central page telling me that I have refunds requireing attention.
I contacted the buyer about 2 weeks after the return request, asking if they still wanted to return the product or had decided to keep it, there was no response.
It is now 35 days since the return was authorised, what am I to do?
I am bit OCD and do not like that ‘refunds need attention’ box sitting there, and wish I could make it go away.
Any ideas?

Nothing, unless/until the item gets back to you. If the buyer doesn’t bother to return it, they’ve presumably changed their mind, especially if they’ve realised they would have to pay the return postage

Having the same issue. The customer did not return the item after opening the return request. It’s been 37 days since the customer has opened a return request but never returned the item, and now my account return management feature always show that return request and constantly telling me to take further actions.
What am I supposed to do now? I want to get rid off of that return request.

Yep, I have this too. 34 days ago I authorised the ‘item no longer needed’ return request and I have had nothing returned to me. I was wondering if there was a time limit for it to disappear.
This post made me laugh though, as every time I view my dashboard that box with ‘1 refund needs attention’ gets me all agitated

I have 4 return requests, auto authorised and a returns label generated and charged to me! Customers say they no longer want the item in the message but then select the not as described option, meaning they don’t pay the return costs! Cheeky and completely unfair that I am made to pay like this. Getting black marks against those listings as well I’m sure.
3 of those returns are from 2 weeks ago and the tracking says dispatched but actually nothing has arrived here with me. perhaps they changed their mind and never actually posted them. But will I still be made to pay for the labels (RM Tracked 48) even though they were not used?
