Mark them as Royal Mail - Royal Mail 2nd Class Stamps/Franking

Edit - If you’re using Click and Drop to generate labels and update Amazon with details, make sure to untick the box that says to update shipment details on Amazon, otherwise it will override your manual selection.

There is a 2d barcode (numbers and letters) on the proof of postage type that into the box.

True, although at some point Amazon may decide they don’t like everyone using the stanps / franked settings and penalise sellers for using it. :unamused:

I’d been buying 2nd class postage via my C&D account, then manually marking despatched opting for Stamps/Franking but I couldn’t keep up with it, so I’ve now switched back to RM48, it’s only a few pence more to post each item but IMHO worth paying for

Thankyou everyone, I find it frustrating that Amazon seem to be making it more difficult to sell things.

Hi all. I’ve received an email from Amazon today about delivery posting options etc (which I think most people have based on other forum threads), and gotten very confused about what delivery-options I select when sending items (which I think most people have based on other forum threads - lol ). I asked about this same thing a few months ago on another forum thread, and thought I was sure based on some replies at the time, but now I’m not so sure…

***I am fulfilled-by-merchant on Amazon.
***I DO NOT have any kind of “Buy Shipping (with Amazon)”. NOR do I have any kind Royal Mail account / access to 2D barcodes or whatever (and I don’t really want to change over to any of these or anything else). So therefore I do not have or use item tracking ID / code when sending items (not counting Royal Mail’s own certificate/proof of postage, which as far as I know is not a suitable code for Amazon’s tracking ID system).
***I sell mainly old VHS tapes (individual titles) - I send them in A4(ish) size bubble-wrap envelopes. They weigh roughly (tape + VHS-case + envelope altogether) anything from around 250g to 320g.
***I always send items 2nd class at my local post office by Royal Mail.
***I am a UK based business, and only send items to addresses within the UK.

My main concern is getting a bad VTR thing for not selecting the correct delivery options. So can anyone help? What deliver option thing do I select on Amazons send item page?

I was advised by someone on the forums months ago to select:

CARRIER: Royal-Mail
DELIVERY SERVICE: Royal-Mail 2nd Class Stamps/Franking

Is this correct / should I continue to keep this as my option for selling single VHS’s? Or should I select “Stamps/Franking” ONLY? Or should I be selecting something else?

Any help appreciated.

Hmmm, OK, many thanks again for your help The_Little_Shop - I think it was you who helped me some months back with this VTR and postage stuff too.

Sorry I have a question! So we sent a parcel CRL48 via Royal Mail as we received a multiple order. We had the 2D barcode tracking and provided it to Amazon etc etc

Buyer has contacted to say not received. Checked tracking it says - An update will only be provided once we attempt to deliver your item. It was sent a month ago. So I called Royal Mail. They said not in the system scanned so they have no idea what has happened to it. Could still be in system processing. Could be lost. Could have been delivered.

Totally unhelpful. So I say probably not delivered - buyer has contacted how do I claim. They said on this service you cannot claim. Not for the cost of postage or the cost of the items lost. Is that correct?!
